Ashram Day 28 (day 1431)

It was an unsuspected edge
That took my hand and sighed.
Uneven in my mastery I fell away,
Flew away.

Let to always wonder why
I never called out your name.
I told you where I had been,
Where I was going.

I tried to leave an irregular mark
On the sides of your world,
We shared silent space
Like a heart never knew to cry.

Now this razor upon the sharpener’s stone
Will caress our forever scents,
Chasing away hazy beach sunsets
In sweet ukulele remembrance.

Stay my heart, stay here
For forever remembers clear.
And my bags are packed
I’m heading home.

Ashram Day 26 (day 1429)

You said your eyes were clear,
I saw dust and wine ruining time.
Lift my hands and call me home,
Living atheist still ain’t easy.
Jesus, transcendent and ominous light,
Lead my heart into a choice;
Moses helped a shepherd’s flight.
You said your eyes were always clear,
I closed my eyes and saw you dear.

Ashram Day 23 (day 1426)

I am a breath
That lifts up my toes,
Tickles my ankles
And rushes my knees.
I am wind
That fills up my heart;
Left rib to right,
Belly button to spine.
I am an inhale
Refueling my source,
Taking natural bounty
Fully replenishing.
I am an audible exhale
Releasing everything all at once,
Letting my heart, in one motion
Exit out to return.

Ashram Day 12 (day 1415)

A long undue could just be brought,
I pulled the nine of cups.
Bring me wisdom, guide me strong
I have spent the time to grow.
But why do I remain the student,
Why does my heart call out?
Children will be heart and soul,
Come back again tomorrow.
I, for one, have left behind
Symptoms of unspent growth,
Until at last, I am the student,
Perhaps forever more.
Surely as I grow beyond,
Like a beanstock reaching high,
My arrow will become well tuned
And my horse shall be named Amo.

Ashram Day 11 (day 1414)

My heart was lost into a sea
Towards a dreadful wind,
To which I did not ever cry
For I was man of steel.
“Why do you leave a stone unturned?”
Was all I’d ever say
To those that came and left again
Without a full intent.
I, the master of destiny,
Plainly as I could see,
Was left again, without a chance,
To linger long in drought;
As a wind can take away,
So can it come to blow.
Here upon my step one day
Sitting there awaiting,
Such a future I could not hold,
A solution I could not see.

Ashram Day 6 (day 1409)

Like lightning, truth descended,
Flapping lightly as she landed
Upon an altar I had cleaned for her.

Her honesty changed me,
Her beauty held me,
Her eyes led me
Into a heart that I was.

Wings are my lightness,
Peace is my soaring,
Freedom is my voice
That extends like horizon.

Lucky Lily (day 1394)

Who roameth among the curly haired
That lay about the shores,
Shall forever wear a lily placed
Carefully about their hair.
And if a suitor shall come upon
A maiden basking there
(Be it lost, be it strove,
Be it guided by knowing stars
Alight – bright! in the sky)
Lucky shall friends of friends
Who knew one once a while,
Whenceforth shall say,
Amidst pure joy,
Lucky’s in a heart so full.
