Momentum (day 2986)

Momentum came and called my name
Whispered three rules to follow suit
I heard each one that echoed deep
Settled with a gnawing sting.

Trusting you is like trusting sin
Each and every time within
Glowing embers of this heart
So balance my very claws.

Thus when the clock struck
An unruly hour, so late,
I awoke the glowing fire
Momentum now my name.

Untold (day 2985)

Goodness grew up in a holiday town
A victim of circumstance
Faltered at the spinning wheel
Chance and fate could abide no more.
One million little pindrops
That held hands with knees that knelt;
Cannon for the triumph call
Of a Nation that goes unarmed,
Yet fights so mercilessly at
Windows of every vacant lot,
To grind away what deepest mysteries
Have ever dared to sit untold.

Golden Eyes (day 2983)

Feline looking back at me
Eyes as golden slits
White as snow could hope to be
Puffed lips that cleverly pursue
Delights to lick upon.
Inside those eyes a softness
Always an open thought looking back,
Tenderness in each step
When good company is there, present,
But when the night’s hour
Ticks down another day
Footsteps become loud thunderbolts
Cat’s meow into the night.

The Aftermath (day 2982)

Madness is my rawness
A cool wind trickling in
Through the carelessly
Awkwardly
Blindless blinds in a breeze.

Through my heart I sense exposure
A germinated seed standing tall
With dandilions and sweet summer grass;
An attic vent left unkempt.

Longing for Sun to strike
A moment I’ve anticipated on the wall
But each of them still blocked as past tense
Scented with a candle’s wick.

Tune (day 2980)

Rainbows caught me smiling a tune
Ruthless and vicious grumbling moon
Habits and rituals that cast spells
Rituals upon my inner walls
Calling out I glean my love
And scrape it down my leg
So there it is, my whisper, my tune
Which I can declare out loud
Standing humbly here.

Upon This Spot (day 3039)

Here, my dear
Let us take to rest,
Let us close our eyes and listen
To distant gulls and wind blowing
In the air so clear it’s effervescent
As we lay upon this grass
Freshly cut just so.
I wonder how, in times of y’or,
Two lovers could walk a path
Taking them to a similar clearing
Groundskeeper had made avail.
Or would they wander
Amidst a forest
Criss-crossed with paths
To and From
Neighbours seeking neighbours.
How lucky we are
To share a spot
Sunlight here, so dear.
Your cheek resting so close to mine
Lips so tender here.
Let us take this moment
To talk of what wonders we dare,
To have you lay close in my arms.
Your sun the warmth in my heart
You near, my very cheer.
