Winter came
Now the storm has passed
But your touch
No longer here
But in our hearts
Your soul lives strong
Forever so close
So dear
That when I close
My eyes I hear
How loudly
Your soul
Did shine
Tag: forever
Dove Deep (day 2483)
What I could see was forever, then
Sweet memories I didn’t dare to shift
Quietly working their way
Through the love that I lay
Upon the throne I watched you sitting on
Where I released expectations
And dove deep into the essence
Of your present self before me
One Drink Past Midnight (day 2441)
Let this night be ever young
No matter which hour it strikes
For a heart cares not
About such trivial time
When setting about a passion.
And if a drink should come to spoil
May it be blamed on desired focus,
Not a trick of some lost soul
Begging for another.
Edges (day 1911)
Off you go, into the North
Leaving me here all wrapped in alone,
I see the tender wind a blowing
Guiding you on your way.
All around green leaves are turning,
At first in yellows at the edge,
Then before I know to check my season,
Fully entrapped in brown as vivacious earth below.
This makes me think of how you’ve taken
Over these delicate edges of my heart;
At first you were sweet wind blowing
On a sunny, summer afternoon.
Then you started to set my edges
To warmer shades of home,
Until at last, I fell, expanded,
Into this palm you call forever.
And all the while, I’ve always trusted
An unerring cycle of our earth;
North to South, East to West,
Forest trails from here to there,
And as I turn my inner eye
(Autumn, Winter, Spring, and Summer)
I realize no matter the colour of the sky
It’s nothing, unless you are the colour of my home.
Just Maybe (day 1751)
I don’t want a perfect you.
I don’t want an imagination
Resting on commercialized ideals
And mis-spent laments.
No.
I want your messiness and chaos
And moments that urk me,
And crazy eyes and silent times
And hugs that will never end
Because forever is a time
I will be left thinking of you.
And just maybe,
If I count my lucky stars enough,
I will be right there
Next to you,
Smiling,
Winding my clock backwards
Elongating time to expand
These moments that make up you.

Soul’s Grace (day 1741)
Rebuilt my soul last night
Fire burns inside now
I stapled criss-crossing formulas
To check my motivation
A bombtrack of intelligence
Lining my inner walls
Fire burns inside now
My militant mind is marching
Gates of your nevermore
Re-purposed as my forever glory
Forever trodden
Mariachi marching band
Rebuilt my soul last night
Fire burns inside now
Re-wrote all of my devotion
To align with my new design
And tore my heart apart
As it now tick tocks to my soul’s grace
Along a Canal (day 1647)
This is my middle finger.
I take the softest wind drift
To an older enemy,
Who sighed inside a bottle
That floated down a river
And sweeped into the delta
Of rice fields and manure.
Care ye’to thee ol’letters?
As I recited memories
On twenty pound letterhead.
Till I turned around forever.
Saving Grace (day 1441)
Movement arts can break my heart
Shifting me forever more,
Until sun comes to warm my fun
With a source of everlasting.
But even then, in spite my reign,
I spit out glowing embers
That shatter reason and
Break peaceful truths,
Leaving the middle road
A piece of saving grace
I dare not tread to lightly.
If It Is You (day 1379)
I crumple into random acts of sincerity.
“Who are you hollering at?” I said,
Half past the guilty and looking down the road at
Honesty.
Did an Angel touch your shoulder gentle-like?
I felt a slight flutter
In a whirlwind of forever,
Dancing in my opera house memory.
Hold onto you like it is you,
And if it is you be you.
