Melding (day 2541)

With you on my mind
I crawled into pure bliss
Erupting from my deepest toes
To grasping figertips
I walked into your eminence
Bowing down to each your glow
Ruffling of your softest hairs
Betwixt my fingers enclosed
My lips became yours with each
Touch upon mine own
From which I lost all control
Melding at the stove.

Secret Map (day 2390)

I want to know your secret map
More immense than a shooting star
Follow stardust trails
From earlobe to tippy toe.

I want to know what it feels like to dance
Your skin so rouge my undone touch
Landing with a handful of
Deepened grasping of a secret scent.

I want to know where to fit you in
An eager route I’m turning up
Galaxy of your rising sun
Lost and eyes wide open.

Looking (day 2364)

I look for you in everything
With or without wine
I can see pointed toes
Within black socks
Pulled up to the middle of your calf
And black hair
That I’ve never been able
To reach out and touch.
No heartbeat says maybe
More than your eyes
Working chopsticks
Can reach into mine,
Yet laughter didn’t mean
What I had hoped
As I sat up late
Mixing fables
With my loneliness.
So twist away,
Reach out with flexed fingertips
Where I don’t belong,
And allow me to linger here
To sort out my other side
And remember
The smile that set me free.

Sharpening Stone (day 2326)

Upon a knee
Our warrior was blasphemed
Rose in teeth
Cut down
And consecrated
Upside down
By a dagger
Ten inches long
Through the girth
Of his left rib
Icy reverie ensued
From the coldest of hands
From the North Sea Queen.

Upon a knee
Blood thickly rolled
Like dreadful winter freeze
All words lost
In the eyes of our warrior
Who at long last
Veil removed
Saw truth
Darkness in the heart
Ice in the touch
Of the North Sea Queen.

Upon a knee
A heart slowly broke
Glossed over
With ice
A deep cold
For within this
Intimate hearth
Exposed, revealed
A sharpening stone
Ancient and froze
And our warrior’s sadness
Frigid
Clasped
By the North Sea Queen.

Forgotten (day 2284)

How does one continue to live
In a place that’s forgotten your touch
In a world where unfamiliar hearts
Enslave a name that’s no longer known.
How does one let go
Of a T-shirt you used to wear
Of hair bands you’ve left behind
And a smell that used to be present.
At the grocer yesterday
An unknown woman walked by
With a forgotten fragrance
Who smiled as she picked up
A package of frozen peas.
Yet wounds are still swelling
Bruises still glow with a cold feeling
That a forgotten fabric
Has been set aside from imagination
And two long lines separate the distance
Of once was and what’s now.

Stay the Same (day 2237)

(him)
As I step into forgiveness
Where do your soft touches go?
Sun drops touching our ground tomorrow
Oyster magic on our table goes round
Sounds of a midnight loon.

Stay the same
Stay the same
Stay the same

(her)
I am not here for your darkness
Like a widow in her healthy garden
I will step softly into light
A letter from a stranger I did not know
Tears still seem to fall.

Stay the same
Stay the same
Stay the same

(him)
Will you lift your eyes to meet me
At your sandstone arched wooden door
Will I have to forget you
Blind shall be my stepping stone
Close my eyes and see no more.

Stay the same
Stay the same
Stay the same

(her)
Like your kindness as you enter
My heart is woven ever faster
Than my feet can henceforth take me
Softly over meadow floors
Flowers in my hand remind me.

Stay the same
Stay the same
Stay the same

(him)
Then I shall not ever let you
Go a day without more laughter
Go a day without my song
I cannot say without this flutter
I see soft horizons ever after.

Stay the same
Stay the same
Stay the same

(her)
I shall depart and let your laughter
Be the log jam of my spring
So that soon my winter prior
Shall be our summer blossom orchard
I shall hold on.

Stay the same
Stay the same
Stay the same

(him)
In your absence let my letter
Touch your breast pocket in tender softness
Let my vision hold your mind
As my strong hand shall press on
Ever yours, ever yours.

Stay the same
Stay the same
Stay the same

Alone with a Neighbour (day 2151)

Alone I sat
Atop the ol’ cliff
Atop me wise mountain
Gathering reverie.
A hand touched my shoulder –
Sweet emotion I did feel –
A Saint in a brown robe.
With my emptiness
Leading me over deserts
Clouds and the sea,
I was a whisper
Lost in memory
And wind was my friend.
She, we was three,
We sat in our moments
Flying alone
Though neighbours we became.

Golden Iron (day 2148)

Whisper me once silence more
I have a golden iron
Wrack my brain into sweet depths
Let thee mine, forever.
Then why doth evening break again
With no leopards at my back?
I’ve given over each succulent
A tender touch shall remain
For my heart leaps with each raindrop
A flood, or desert storm.
