Lift You Up (day 838)

The way you did that, those things
The way you shifted my conscience
The way you moved me with that slow grind
The way you mesmerized me; knowing – unknowing

Even the room as I sauntered in
Keeping things calm, under control
Held things my third eye plied from you
Taking in your essence, your every move

I heard the footsteps
I heard the deep breath
I heard the light gasp
I heard the heartbeat

So when you offered me some cozy tea
A promised delight, a comfortable touch
I made my way down and observed the light
Dim was the mood set for you and me

When you leaned over me to place hot tea
Your scent, like a hungry snake
Desire spread thick into my eyes
To which you dug in to capture me

You kissed me there
You kissed me long and hard
You kissed me to my soul
You kissed me everywhere

As the tea went cold we were heating up
We shuffled ’round in our underwear
Your tiny black booty shorts
My worn out boxer briefs

Which my hand went smoothly under
My hand went to that crease
Between your cheek and leg
To lift and hold on tight

A moment you surged in to like a bowl of fire
A feeling I could not misplace
That left me grabbing on for more
Reaching deeper to lift you up

It’s a Struggle (day 833)

The soul of a man was never here
There was never a judgement day
The seas never parted for sanctity
No dove soared over these skies

There was no path along the way
No dotted map mapped out
The road was never straight
And the going was never easy

I was never taught vowels to speak
Never held to stop the fall
My cuts were never cleaned
No wounds have ever healed

No grapes have ever grown here
The sky has never rained
Carrots have always stunted
No fruit truck ever stopped

There has never been love here
No kind touch from a woman’s hand
No laughter has ever sung here
No peace has ever been found

Makin Rhyme (day 814)

Shake my sugar
My gloved thing
In moonlight
It’s a good thing
It’s been alright
Oh my dear thing

Cause it’s a 1-2-3
Hippity
Hippity
Hippity
Hop
Shake it down some
Make rhythm

Run

Baby you’re all fine
Sugar and rhyme
You pull roses from hearts crest
You pull angels from heavens nest
Your big bad ways unknown to man
You drag hearts round
You make loud sound

You’ve heard words
That ain’t mine
You lift pity hurts
Until blind bursts shatter loudly
You’ve pushed bad songs
Until rhythm equals dirt
Slung guns with the bad crew
And left daddy with a wide grin

Been there, you know
I’ve hustled in bad times
When there ain’t a living
You’ve got nothing baby
Like it ain’t hurt
You ain’t nothing baby
Like it ain’t hurt

Truth is
It’s a good thing
Prophecy will manifest
Like good goblins
In the blackness
Or Michael Jackson
And a leather vest
It ain’t lies
It’s like a holocaust
Evil gone
And the good all left
Broken gods
Relaxing on the river’s edge

It’s alright
I’m a gentle touch
I’ve got it down
Sugar and sweet
I’m a gentle touch
You know baby
I’m a gentle touch

Now no break
Can penetrate
Can permeate
This fine skin
Traumatize
Through these eyes
Cause you’re a bad seed
Through these eyes
You’re never wrong

I Danced (day 787)

I danced like I had hot rocks in my shoes
Spinning in the cool night air
All around me gathered friends of friends
Fur tails and leather pouches and
Glow sticks in their hair

There was a beat rumbling forth
Striking notes inside my soul
Moving my hips in synch with beautiful people
Surrounding me, smiling as I spun
Watching the light play tricks
On the trees beyond

I didn’t reach out and touch anybody
Far too reserved with my mind about me
Watching the multitudes surge and fray
While the studs balanced upon their horses
And the ladies flaired up their feathers

I danced tonight with unequal steps
Shaking in weird beats per minute
Lights temporarily blinding me
But not a care in the world
With every note stirring my soul and
Shaking my knees with grooves

How Would We Spend Our Days (day 784)

But if I never held your hand
How would I know your touch?

But if I never spoke your name
How would I call you to me?

But if I never smelled your essence
How would I find my memories?

But if I never whispered lightly
How would I hear you call?

But if I never watched the sunset
How would I dream of you at night?

But if we never gazed afar
How would we ever smile together?

But if we never danced to slow songs
How would we spend our days?

Athens, Greece

Ruckus, and Other Saintly Practices (day 776)

Touch me as I lose control of my breath
Lower my eyes into the depths of fire
Invite my courage to span this low lit mood
Rumble over my curves like the moon
Encourage my glow to seek thy skin
With an eruption of goosebumps
Curl around my exposed knees
Bend until you’re wrapped so dearly close
Loosely drape sheets about your naked breast
Skirt my attention with tangles of your hair
Blow upon my fingers as you read about their days
Measure out the distance to the embers of my heart
Icy cold hands make your heart flutter flutter
Sip upon the brow of this thickly layered elixir
Put between your lips the essence from a kiss

Infected (day 758)

Your beauty is infectious
Swimming around in my blood
Running through my thoughts
Hinging my smile at the edges
Putting a jump in my step
And I kind of like it

It’s like an amarillo in blossom
Shining in the garden with wide arms
Whispering everything I want to hear
Hands resting on my shoulders
As your lips come closer
Reach out and touch something

Then I smell the answer to my life
Lingering memories I’ve never forgotten
Because you keep coming back
You keep calling my name
Out loud all hours of the night
Reminding me to never let go

For without your pulsating heartbeat
I have never lived a single day
Never felt my hair between your fingers
As I look toward the sky in bliss
Watching unnamed clouds float on by
I smile, infected with beauty and love

Amarilis

Touch (day 644)

When I touch you, baby
And all I feel is goosebumps
When we slow roll down
To your back and my weight
I see it with fuel in your eyes

When the light is turned down low, baby
I hear you, softly and smoothly
Whispering tones we’ve come to know
Hear me as I kiss trails down your neck
Where I feel earthquakes within your soul

And when passion grabs hold of your hips, baby
Fills you up to heights untold
Scream out; let surrender take control;
Snarl and arc and grip me leaving
Memories in claw marks over my skin

Senses (day 533)

Thank you for the breath that I breathe
For the grass that grows green
And then dies in the fall

Thank you for the eyes that give me color
Shades of the rainbow from the sun
And white from the cold

Thank you for the smell from my nose
Fresh turkey from the oven
And wet paint on a canvas

Thank you for the strength in my bones
That lead me into tomorrow
With every step that I take

Thank you for the touch at my fingertips
Dancing happily over exposed skin
Searching blindly in the dark

Thank you for the thought that I think
Setting my plans and my goals
And being blessed with love in my heart
