Golden Dreams

I cannot remember my golden dreams of yesterday.
Will my words be understood tomorrow?

Each of these laid with patience
Upon flat laid twenty pound unlined and rounded corners
Shall surely carry dust until curiosity reveals,
But the binary figures carried on electricity
Floating lazily upon some unknown bandwidth
In a region East of the Alps
Well, those messages remain vague.

Those messages may die without a subscription fee paid,
And the backups may need debugging or rerouting,
Ciphers and codecs may no longer be backwards compatible.

Our graceful new line of important thinkers
Good looking important thinkers
Looking good getting there
Are too busy to see through the mirror.
What has been forgotten (by them)
Is no longer opened.
All expecting return on investments.
The new band copies the old band
But the old band wont fight back,
The old band has been to that rock show
And lost a tooth there.

Youth are changing
Renaming, rewriting, shaming,
And forgetting
At too quick a rate
To remember yesterday’s golden dreams.
The books aren’t borrowed anymore,
Libraries replaced by computer zones.
Just an endless scrolling in dark mode
So the blue light wont effect
Brain’s melatonin tonight
Because now we know too much
And what we know is unimportant
Logos lost our gravitas.

Flying (day 2990)

A game against the marshy stars
Took me here to revel in patience
For in the stars beats many hearts
Long forgotten and passed away.
But to my open heart they pass
No longer grasping at the past
But into a moment of peace
They look for what they’ve sought.
Can you run, can you speed,
Can you live my heartstring beat,
Can you pass me from my emptiness
To the great transmission home.

To Be Felt (day 2812)

I give you my patience
And it forgets about me
My lingering sadness
Frets about me
And your vision
Shines through another screen
That rectifies no hour
To hold on to you
A moment I cannot see
For you’re silencing me
Drifting, I shall not reward
I shall depart
And this too shall not be felt.

Slight of Time (day 2800)

So I awoke
And the lines that had drawn my face
Began to swirl and dip
Which brought me to my knees
Where I prayed I could not feel;
Memories forgotten.
So, too, shall I drown again,
My dust fading away
Daring each little pin prick
To surface as a rash
That rattles my skin
From the very bones that keep it here.
This was no dream,
I reminded myself,
I was not reminiscing,
There were two clocks
Slowly ticking as they always had ticked
Slightly out of time
And pressure built
Within my cell walls
To continue to breathe
As Patience had taken me here
Against my own will
And against my respite.

Toad Flick (day 2624)

I woke into a spidery mess
One that had me sweat and curl;
A toad flick had me by the mind
A rat nip had me by the hand.
And just as truth began to clear
Fog of night’s disguise,
A noise to my right made me
Start in pause a moment more.
For a dog of mine own friendship
Winked at me in patience;
Morning’s routine to begin
Commencement of a day.

Curious (day 2616)

I’m exhausted underneath
I didn’t expect the gambler
Here I am, an empty hand
Plans for regrowth
For blossoms, for extreme divinity
Reigning down upon the grounds.
I have let grow such vigor,
Wild abandon, wilderness.
I have put it upon the ground,
Walked back ten paces,
Stood aside, silenced myself
And begun to observe
With the patience of a snake
How curious it all looks from here.

Moon’s Song (day 2557)

When I flew upon these wings
I spoke to you in thunder
Carried on up through my eyes
Left me ever wilder.

Clouds became my lily pads
Dancing I shook the ground
And when I played the Moon a song
Sweet Sun came around.

Braced I landed on both my feet
Flexing as I prepared
Passion ready, nostrils flared
Stretched every sinue clear.

There I lay neigh blinking
Wide open you stared at me
We lasted here not long enough
Patience of routine’s design.

Friendly Girl (day 2105)

What have I become?
Rough rebellious edges
Carrying on in a dream I’ve surely built
Commonly misunderstood
In spite my lessons in patience
And I’m just looking for a friendly girl
Who enjoys the music I play every day.

No, not one to judge racially
Not one to define boundaries
Not one to mistreat, mistrust
I share in this mighty earth
Respecting green miracle of growth
And I’m just looking for a friendly girl
Who enjoys all the seeds that I sow.

What have I become?
Rough rebellious edges
Carrying on in a dream I’ve surely built
Commonly misunderstood
In spite my lessons in patience
And I’m just looking for a friendly girl
Who enjoys the music I play every day.

Looking back it’s not easy
Had my heart on the line
Had too many unwritten songs
Yet nothing’ll stop me
My drive is what makes me
And I’m just looking for a friendly girl
Who enjoys going for a ride.

What have I become?
Rough rebellious edges
Carrying on in a dream I’ve surely built
Commonly misunderstood
In spite my lessons in patience
And I’m just looking for a friendly girl
Who enjoys the music I play every day.
