Ode to a Hard Worker (day 2659)

Your work
Inspires my work;
Your effort
Inspires my effort.
Take lead and know
Each your step
Hold mountains;
Each your effort
Hold us all together
Like no other
Force or method,
Like no other
Example of literature;
Exceeding all expectations
And leading us our way
Into a tomorrow
We shall all
Be the better
Thereof
From your today example
From your today hard work.

Heavy Tread (day 2609)

My mountain comes into my cove
Of which I heavily tread
For no one knows that which I bare
No one knows my comst soul
Yet even in the deepest hour
My glow is never failed
My strongest tie can never loose
Muscles taught against the threat.

Long shall each heavy stride
Call thy legs at thou lookout
This brow upon my strengthened neck
Carries an outlook built on sweat
And living within this absolute
Blisters each creak I’ve ever known
That rests when day’s toil’s been had
When Sun bids the sky adieu.

Biggest Blanket (day 2606)

Run away to me today
My mountain sends you songs
Birds of all colours sing
Water keeps running on.

For you, I’ll bring the biggest blanket
Wrap you when you’re cold
For to keep you up so late
Your star to shine so bright.

Find your path brings the lightest toes
For here shall be all you need,
A warm hearth, an accepted heart,
A hand around your waist.

And as your presence keeps me aligned,
My support your stepping stone
Watch here as we two shall grow
Unquestionably what I want to know.

For You (day 2574)

I swept the fields
Mountains so clean
To end up in
Your hands again
I picked some daisies
Buttercups too
Golden rod
To hand to you
For in your eyes
I saw such hope
Dreams in a fashion
I’d cotton’d to
That kept a softspot
All animals
Of each their kind
Wild friends, too
And in the hearth
Roasting slow
Cups of tea
Tea for two
As here I made it
Pasture green
Journey to
Just for you.

Mountain Tops (day 2573)

I roared so fiercely through my being
I shook the mountain tops so high,
Upon which to leave a plateau
For your grace to rest upon.
And like the forest we crossed below,
We screamed of wilderness!
A yell that shook the river’s flow –
Turbulent and rambling froth.
Now the golden lace of sun
Set its throbbing fingers upon
Your back of a leopard’s frame
Which gave way to the universe’s spin.

To The Birds (day 2518)

I spoke in whispers I thought only you’d know how to hear
A call upon the window ledge that browns a little more each year
Three mountains on the horizon but only one brings you near
How many times can I watch, each time I see what I’ve never seen
Each time, each year the vision is as dear to me again
And sends drawing down my face one happily yet unspoken tear.

Red Sun (day 2280)

When a lonely mountain calls her name,
When a red sun sets,
A lake, my heart, listens intent;
A loon calls out for twilight.
And her name is here again
Amidst pines that run the shore,
Where slowly her lines
Run though my head
Slow memories drawn out into the lake
(A canoe silently passes by
As darkness settling in)
To warn me of my heavy eyes
And heart amidst the peaks
Where I shall watch again, tomorrow,
For a sun to lead the way.

Your Orbit (Honey Reprise) (day 2216)

I want to love you
I want to pour your honey
Upon the night sky
And sing with each star’s song
As witnesses caressing
Our embracing
Like memories they once had
Because we make it more
We mix our transcendence
Like an effective cocktail
Deep and magical
Swirling around us
Until we drop our inhibitions
And erupt in ecstasy
With our backs calling
Upon mountain peaks
To bite like frozen midnight
And thaw in a slow dance
That keeps you close to me
Hoping that night ends like this,
Two stuck souls
In magnetic resonance
And a smile that keeps returning
Along the path of I love you
And I love you
And I want to return to you
What fullness you’ve given me
What reasons and paths
And future to learn
The orbit of your mind
In a day that I can find
Inside the galaxy of my soul.
