Morning breath of Saturday glory
Blinding in its sight
Focused on a path of tomorrow
For today is inescaped.
And far above on Midnight’s hill
Rode a tall and lanky Knight
Who dreamt of far off Damsels
Who wore bright flowers of ancient pattern.
Down they swooped and lush they bled
For their heart was bound thy sleeve,
And bottled in a pit of agony
Lay the tremors that fought against
Each and every missing link
Of ancient pattern’s bloom.
But there it grew, there it lifted
Above horizon and into morn’,
There the sight of our dear Knight
Rode amidst Valley full.

Rock and Roll (day 2979)
Working at midnight
Laughing for free
Never enough
Of too much a good thing
Highways and sidestreets
Focusing beets
Rebels and cowboys
Louder than me
There ain’t an ounce of goodness
Let over from sin
Lovers and earthquakes
Diamonds and greed.
Shadows of Midnight (day 2958)
What spoke at me had not begun yet:
Shadows of midnight,
Forgotten years of destruction,
Long lineups of that which you can.
Into the light of gobsmack,
Can you be my midnight
If the Angel could alight?
Lost souls of yet spoken madness.
Be my witnessed sentry
Gallon of blood tonight.
Softly Star (day 2942)
I awoke into a starry night
And asked the voices singing me
Hold my hand, I am softly sentient
Delicate in harmony,
Floating on a midnight mist.
Open me to solve this mystery
So longing at my tender chest,
Your touch here upon my heart
Flutters for me so peacefully.
Then, just as gently as they came
Voices sang me right to sleep
And in my dreams I found them there
Lightly dancing in the air.
Fame (day 2775)
I’ve soaked my shoes in two cans of kerosene
Waiting for sunset so I can feed you
I don’t think the birds have smelt it yet
But when they do, when they fly high
When the sky is soaked with iridescence
And midnight remembers no names
I shall let the match to every hallow
That dares claim my name to fame.
Fire Burns, Fire Bare (day 2768)
And when the fire burns
Midnight is along soon
To gather dust at each
New passing flickering
But hallows, charr’d so black
Keep an ever thoughtful glare
Amidst my burning fire
For me, I am midnight
I am the fire’s bare.
Warrior and Prince (day 2687)
You were a warrior
I, a mere Prince
Wandering this land
We met by pure chance
You with a gun
I with my lance
Warm by the fire
I had set by a fence
You told me of buffalo
I spoke of dance
Midnight approached
Magical moment
Our horses awaited
Saddles and trails
Fresh mornings
And sunlight.
Windy Evening (day 2662)
Full on
Gusting roar
Flapping midnight outside
Sunlight (day 2546)
I left you in the pleasant afternoon sunlight
You had opened up your heart to me at night
I had cried to you for many nights before
Until I dried up each of my lost thoughts
I had finally found you hidden in a room next door
But then it came to the time for me to leave
One day I had talked about before
You didn’t ask me to stay around some more
Though I knew, I could see it in your eyes
A look you gave me opening up the wildest sky
A midnight I had seen in the deepest of our hearts
When you had let me know I opened up the door
You wanted me to stay, you stood there for me naked
So I walked away, I turned the other way
A bridge I came to that said do not return
Upon the other side I looked behind, where I’d come from
I saw you standing there, tears in each your eyes
And then my heart bled out, it was our last goodbye
In the pleasant afternoon, midday sunlight.
The Moon (day 2540)
I opened up my window to see
Full moon at my scape,
Emotion flowed from my lips
Leading me into night.
I found a letter on my mind
That began to ring so true
Aligning with my intentions
I had thought through and through.
I roused my warrior to a sweat
How could we lead otherwise!
And into night we danced our dance
For intentioning our life.
Beginning as a quiet chant
Roused by midnight firelight
Spiraling towards the moon
As rivers go on to ocean.
I swallowed in the moon
With ten thousand breaths
Tomorrow to wake again
Bound on my path.
