Shadow Tower (day 2330)

She rustled her leaves back and forth
Sweeping a nation of winter
Through the villages below.

How could they feel
This anger, hatred
Without winter closing upon them?

Darkness in a tower
Shadows lingering longer
Than daylight had planned.

Whispers were shrieks
To those unshielded ears
Unbowed, unobedient.

Children not yet warned
Would stare in awe
Horrific shadows cast.

Amidst harsh coldness
Sat iron gates, locked
Winter, forever exposed.

Queen of the North Sea
Angular and majestic
Ruthless and cold.

Fall Down Deep (day 2292)

Take my deadly eyes inside your momentary
I am here to gain histerium
Ecstasy is a widow of our sensible
Forgotten shall lay down beneath these gates at dawn
Rectify my energy into your loneliness
And persecute those with shining armor.
Skeleton shall hold my hand
Finally demons shall arise
Lifting heavy weights from boredom’s gates
And fall down deep into desire.

Silence Be Thy Name (day 1782)

You’re the burden I’ve never heard
Uncontrolled in pity and I’m settling scores
Set down the heavy anvil
Clawing at gates of hell
I’m living inside your head
Dirty conscience a bloody shame
Your battle’s one sad estate
Closed up the shutters
And left dying; vegetate
Your demons be your tickling chin
Twisting and reeling
So shall silence forever be thy name.

Heart and Death (day 1040)

Today I go into beyond,
Parting heavy gates.
Closed last season.

Battling;
Clear.
Never understanding
This strong grip.

What lifted my spirits
Above swords so sharp,
To plunge back down
Into death so brown.

Here I grow
Beyond my heart.
Alert and
Lost to earth.

Bound with opal strings
I gaze into my holder.
Eyes so strong.
Until I smooth clean off
Like rolling fog,
Smothering my choice.

Into The Void (day 501)

I cannot survive the pressure from these gates
The overwhelming burdens that punch their ways home
Swelling the pride and flattening its life
Conquering all warmth and allowing the cold stone
To slowly pass over my face and creep into my heart

Let the animals ravenously lounge about my body
Torn as it be, healthy as it was, gone is its fate
Let the maggots eat my flesh and sun dry my innards
I have let the cool fates of the jagged edge
Pull at my future promises and lay waste to my hope

Sleepily I make my way forth into the foggy pools
Asking alligators the way through the thin poles
That littler the fog like needles in a pincushion
Motor gently putting along as little ripples trail
With the smell of diesel slowly intensifying

Crowns (day 414)

Nothing can compare to those golden crowns
The ones that rest behind the steel gates
Behind the thick glass walls with laser beams
Nothing can even match the shine they have
Or the sheer awe they inspire
Especially when freshly polished
Directly beneath those strategically placed pot lights
Nothing can quite make the cut when compared
Things come close, real close
But in the end it’s always those crowned jewels that
Capture the essence of every boy out there
Enough so that even the jesters turn their heads twice

Local Hole (day 351)

I’ve been here before
This local hole
This traffic pattern
This left over dismal
Pit of destruction

Perhaps it’s maybe not that bad
Perhaps it’s maybe a lost cause

I’ve pulled on this string
Left it alone and desolate
Barren in it’s future
without hope and lost
Callused and abused

Perhaps it’s its design
Perhaps it’s just counseling

I’ve calmed down these gates
Without warning I’ve left
The hope has lasted again
I’ll wake tomorrow and see
That the work is finished

Laid (day 320)

I’ve punished you for your sins
This task hasn’t been easy
As I’ve watched you suffer here
From my spot of total control

I’ve laid down the obstacles
You’ve fought along the way
That have caused you great grief
And left you helplessly stricken

The reason for this madness
For all of this torment
Is written in books
Laid out in the plans

But, I suppose you missed those
As you tramped forth on your way
To busy to heed the warnings
In your adversity ways

Ignorance hasn’t paid off then
Has it for you?
Do you regret what you’ve done
As you sit at the gates?

Regardless, this is the fate
You’ve chosen to face
I played out your cards
You thought you had laid
