Temperance (day 246)

When the grass grows long
And finds itself getting shaggy
When the leaves turn brown
And find themselves defying gravity

When the motion is heard
And Doppler enforces his rules
When the oven does smell
Yet the stomach still growls

We find ourselves at a tipping point
A pinnacle at which there exists at most two roads
To the left, and to the right
The blue or the red [pill]

And at this choice,
Burdensome to many
A blessing to most,
We poise, ready for takeoff

Can you feel it?
Does the anticipation,
The calm before the storm,
Raise little hairs on your neck?

[For surely it does]
It must remain all that we have;
Lead temperance to control
The most irate of our desires

And when the grass gets cut
When the gravity grabs them leaves
And the sound pierces thine skull
The stomach, it shall sit content

Pigeons and Cows (day 226)

Crashing through gates
And countless fields
The pigeons and cows
Spread wide for desires

Scavenging wildly
Through cracks and shoots
Looking for sustenance
Like never before

And in one quick moment
The magic begins
A luck of the draw
With skilled inference

Perhaps a quick check
About the horizon
For oncoming danger
Lurking beyond

Satisfaction is impossible
The pursuit is relentless
Tomorrow will go on
Just as today has fared here

Life Seed (day 214)

Below your needs and wishes and desires
Sneaks a long legged bastard with evil desires
Screaming the devil and riding with bulls
Our roaming handles ride out in style

Along the gravel roads
Wisdom pulls at the rocks
Polluting the desire wheels
And holding onto the plan

Don’t let the train run through these hills
Clogging the damned marshes to bulldozed highrises
As far as we’ve planned and disregarded omens
They aren’t going hiding, our wisdom within

Please let the elders speak feelings freely
Hold onto the deep thoughts from within
Random encounters that plant a seed
Life seed that joins all nature as one

At First (day 19)

Lay awake, in bed, in desires unknown
Thinking about all the love you’d have
Nonsense you laugh, roll over again
Struggling to dig yourself in
Succeeding at rumpling all of your sin
Between your legs in folded disarray

Crying, the notes of anger reach your ears
Somebodies playing games with the time of day
Somebodies turned on the lights of this morning
Scream my daily sins, scream my cover at night
albatross, albatross, albatross rock
albatross, albatross, albatross rock

Step move floor get start go.
Creek lurch groan yawn
And reach for the sky in an outstretched embrace
And breathe in and out and in and out
To know, believe, dream, excite
To love, to keep, to be is indeed
