Frost (day 1592)

Where are my eyes,
The sad fellows singing heart songs
Along icy Nordic roads
To the beat of thump thump thump –
Hard footsteps to control
As solid Mother Earth
Shuts down her blooming
To awaken the underbelly of life
That slowly crawls in vein-like formations
Through all things
Dead or alive.
Where are my eyes
That I have not let sing
But needlessly fret over wrinkled sheets,
Ignoring the awakening world
In a thin veiled frost,
Laid out as if the spine of her neck
Were strangely tingling
Alerting her of tragedy.
Where are my eyes?

Just Fine (day 1587)

Left my memories
On an empty bank today
Singing an old song
And my heart bleeds on

Turned to a broken arrow
Shot through the dark
Loosely wrapped with a
Half written love letter

Leather upon my wrists
Empty and holding it tight
Got a wing on my mind
Baby, I’m doing just fine.

Pen Blotches (day 1575)

I cannot grasp what it will mean to send you off again,
What it will mean to let you go;
Finger tips to finger tips and not looking back
And hearing the roar of big jet planes
Overcome my trembling heart
That fleeting moments have left disoriented,
Direction home now jumbled and unrecognizable
Like the clouds you’ll soon be looking down upon.
I cannot find solace in a text to voice ratio,
In a line to line heartbeat filled of stories from afar.
But I will write until my pen blotches all my
Blank pages sad, and leaves my exclamation marks
Simple puddles in a mess.
So come back soon,
Before my heart begins to beat too soft a vibration,
And my pen runs out of black.

Steam Engine (day 1566)

Can you imagine my heartbeat
– Pitter patter it goes –
Living in a coiled roll
Ready to pounce and
Starting at the slightest of moments.
Can you imagine breath
Holding itself upon faint whispers
Scarcely at my lips,
Crawling around lightly
Like a steam engine
Going by at hours counted
By my tick-tock heartbeat.

Heart Run (day 1550)

A breath in to future,
Save one forty nine unto end.
Lay my dance at your hand
Hay ahh – hay ahh – hay ahh – oh.

Break me aside
Heart run like tide
Where’s flame in the night
Hay ahh – hay ahh – hay ahh – oh.

Liminality
Great warriors dance
Forth we shall go
Hay ahh – hay ahh – hay ahh – oh.

Freedom is light
Deep spread strong root
Settling in
Hay ahh – hay ahh – hay ahh – oh.
Hay ahh – hay ahh – hay ahh – oh.

Deep End (day 1545)

I don’t have a deep end,
But surely I could find one
With my keen sense of direction.
Surely I could point fingers
And follow my instincts
Until I was past the touching point
My tiptoes were reaching for;
Starting to panic –
My eyes becoming slightly dilated
And a woozy feeling
Overwhelming my body
Like blood that was slowly leaving it.
