This Time Was To Come (day 703)

I feel a cry, deep beneath layers of cautious steps
One that reaches the far edges of this kingdom
From the cold North where land thaws and turns green
To the tropical South and it’s large brightly feathered birds

It’s challenging, this feeling within
It signals growth, time of change
Pushing my knowledge beyond what I feel
Into real struggles; present ordeals

I did not know this day was to come
This formidable passage of now into future
That grabs at my dreams and eats at my heart
I did not know that this time would come

Upon My Walls (day 691)

I’ve pasted time all over these bedroom walls
Dripping with a thought that’s never passed
In spite my insistence on back pushing
Mind-swapping, and counter-imagining
Some days I can even see the portraits
I painted in monotone upon the walls
Thick eyebrows and pencil thin noses
Some of them scream out at me
The others look out distractedly
Lost in deep thoughts I’ve long since forgotten
I pass everything off on my walls
They repeat after me
Reverberating my madness until it’s real

Past Prime Ministers (day 690)

I name off the past Prime Ministers of Canada
As I vigorously make love to you in the night
This helps me accept the fact that
I’ll be slipping with my consciousness soon
Lapsing into a nether region where
Hawks and eagles walk among men
Tipping their hats in respect for animals while
Dining on fine wine and inhaling Cuban cigars

It’s not that I don’t enjoy our time together
Or that my nether regions don’t explode with furious passion
In the presence of your captivating demeanor
Sensuous curves and inviting aroma
I quite like it actually, appealing to all my senses
I just like to dream of Fantasia
Land so vividly different to familiar Earth
A dreamscape of my own devices
Rhythmically naming the past Prime Ministers
And rattling the headboard of your mothers bed chamber

History Sleeps (day 688)

And your swords
Heel’t by the pressures of oath
Forcing thought from mind
Into duty, sworn and bred

~

It is here where deceit grows
Amongst the cobwebs of freedom
Faith of the free
Growing dissonance

~

But straightened backs
And freshly pressed regalia
Adorned with pride and service
Calm thy boiling blood

~

Hindered with loathe
Confidants biding their time
In halls of betrayal
Seething with ego

Unnatural betrayal hidden
Behind blind eyes of service
Suckling the easy tit of
Mephistopheles

~

While memories float frequently
Between graying hairs
And balding victories
Scavenging the lands of truth

Relying on honor
A choice and a path
Not a reason or calling
But inward honesty

~

Though demons fight unceasingly
Through hushed dark corridors
Escape routes of the squeamish
Icicles of setting winter

~

Until the end remains clear
Ancient avenues of chestnut trees
Above the family crypt
History sleeps as change begins

Soakin’ In With Old Smells (day 686)

I’ve been livin’ on a tear drop
Soakin’ in with old smells
Cigarettes and memories

I’ve been rollin’ on these four wheel
Long nights and sad songs
Music keeps my road signs

I’ve been holdin’ on to old boots
Worn through my thick soul
Dollar bills when midnight croaks

I’ve been thinkin’ of a book gone
Left me dreamin’ with wide eyes
Open plains and deep creeks

I’ve been livin’ on a tear drop
Soakin’ in with old smells
Cigarettes and memories

If There Was No War (day 685)

If there was no war
Lions and cheetahs as friends
And if there was no war
Chimpanzees would sure be free
If there was no war
My happy feet’d take me to thee
‘Cause I’ve got love baby
Love enough for you and me

Can you image life without a wall
No distraught to make it tall
Or foes to climb at all
It’d sure be a funny thing
Calling what mine mine
When the whole world was shared
Yours and mine together you see
Friends at last we’d always be

If there was no war
No holes would mark and scar the land
And if there was no war
No poppy would be remembering for
If there was no war
My happy feet’d take me to thee
‘Cause I’ve got love baby
Love enough for you and me

Now if there was no war
No war to pick our pockets for
And if there was no war
No war for few to fight the many
If there was no war
My dog would open up the door
Welcome in the buffalo
Roaming wild and free
A sea of peace for you and me

Collected Arrows (day 660)

I heard your voice today as it wrung out loud
Sparkling and shining across houndreds of miles
It’s not easy when some angels don’t fly
Long arrows and guided love notes fight perils
But even then days stretch out long
Placing delay at the tip of our tongues
Panic at times as we weave back and forth
Amongst little pillars and settled sailors;
Gamblers on the open world of fortune
Bottle in one hand, out the door with the other
Don’t cry, it wont come easy
[Don’t worry, your voice will be my guiding savior]
So pass love notes with rising vigor
And let the angels wisdom sweep over
Your eyes, your demeanor
Hour heart can rest here a while
With bundles of these collected arrows

Revelate Your Soul (day 652)

I’m bad baby
I’ve got the dog pound taking notes
I’ve been eating leftovers for breakfast
That’s how late I stay up
Let the top down
And the bomp-ity-bomp bomp
I’ve been level with these gangsters
Pumping rap-techno outa their
Candy apple Civics
I’ve been laying low in this ghetto
Pullin raps outa these brainz blown
Cause you know I’m built
On layers of soul, soul baby
I’ve got soul, soul baby
You’ll be bumpin there
In your same mistakes
Your bitches be walking sideways
Cause they’re all screwed up
All screwed up
Listen long to these lines
Cause they’ll revelate your mind, baby
They’ll revelate your soul
I’m rollin’ out
Peace

Shifting Recollections (day 651)

Guess my gold and what all that I am worth
With these eyes that tell old stories
Through wordless reminders of the past

Desire nothing, save for future
And present fades away to blackened stars
I couldn’t have forgot the tired distance
Though my heart loudly telling me it’s flat

And from there my angels come crawling out
Into the gold seats I lay out in front
Of the words I spread with blood so thick
While today’s past, present, and future
Shifts hues and recollects artifacts
