Inhale (day 35)

Slightly zoned, half inebriated
Focusing steadily on things not on my mind
Faking, because there is nothing there
Alone if the air is clear

I’ll sit and stare
I’ll sit and stare

Whispering loudly into your un-hearing ear
Words of laughter, only one of us will get
That’s ok, I’m having a good time
Out here with the buzzing bees

Dancing slowly
Dancing slowly

A burst, a gust, a breath, an inhale
All for no reason, for no one shall fail
No one shall lose, and no one shall win
We shall all collapse in the same un-bathed sin

Whirl my soul
Whirl my soul

Sweeping and groping and laughing and falling
Stumbling in arms specifically made for this moment
A ruckus erupts from beneath the floor
Aggressively leaping into the arms of my lost lover

Lonely I walk
Lonely I walk

I’ve seen this road before
Lazily I’m stumbling with stern conviction
Homeward bound with passive addiction
At last the bed, inviting swirling apparitions.

Exorcism (day 34)

It’s a crippling numbness
Settling me into my spot as I sit here and wait
Hoping for something but not receiving
Why do I wait like it’s a choice I can will:
The existence is truth, if I think hard enough

Yet I lose all motivation
As if calling the setting sun out while loosing daylight
Flushed, to worried to move, to pressured to stay
To meaningful to blow off
To surprised to react
To alone to feel the real impact
To young to exist any other way

Tired (day 32)

Tired this late
When slow songs permeate
Deep into starry nights silent shadows

Pillows and nets
With weighted down blankets
Millions of tiny little hallows

Divine the time
Pick up the books and rhyme
Button up shirts and collar tied bows

Be gone my lad
Fear not the fading fad
Illuminated night a star still glows

Thundering Train (day 30)

Slow down ol’ ground up meat
Roll along the system of sultry
Hope the sands crawl slower
May every whistle blow quieter
Along the restless matches
Slowly burning the translucent time
Gaining a rhyme against the moon
Thundering down the grassiest slopes
A rolling begins to sway this tune

Effort (day 28)

Gravitation like centrifugal force
Pulls its weight inward
Sinking ships and attracting comets
Similar to love; laws of attraction

Within this game of wheels and barriers
Around this ball of burning flame
Sinks the demon you’ve played again
Round and round and dig much deeper

The efforts there, aside the sticks
Counting pegs like cribbage pricks
Blowing out the energy within
This is the game; lead from within

Belligerrence (day 27)

Your horrific display
Of blood and glass
Disturbs my soul
Like never before

The gas that came
Cars you turned
Fights you started
Shirts you ripped
Police you cursed
Stores you looted
Fires you ignited
Vegetation you killed
Fans you threatened
Windows you smashed
Team you hazed
Fun you ruined
City you destroyed
Disgrace you activated
Disgust you instilled
Crime you committed

Shame you should now live with
For the rest of your life
One nights actions
Shall tarnish your name

~I have written this in the aftermath of the riots that I witnessed and photographed in Vancouver after the Canucks lost to the Boston Bruins in game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals.

Canucks (day 26)

Down by four goals
One period to go
It was less than ten minutes
That got you right here

You win with a heart
Take charge with desire
Skate till the end
That’s how you’ll win

People loose hope
People have lost hope
People have jumped on
Bandwagons are strong

All comes to show you
What support and strength
You’ve got behind you
To take down this battle

Keep the faith
Keep your stick on the ice
Lordy lordy lordy
Kick some ass in the race!
