And All This For You (day 836)

Shift with me, a while
As we waltz down this hall

It’s love, and all this for you
It’s love, and all this for you

I do not guess with my moments
Grass and trees tell me rocks

It’s love, and all this for you
It’s love, and all this for you

And long earth has forever shone
Sweet Gaia’s cuddling sun

It’s love, and all this for you
It’s love, and all this for you

Shadows fill in the blanks
For eyes that carry onward; hope

It’s love, and all this for you
It’s love, and all this for you

I’m a god damn coward but
I’ve shared this bit with you

It’s love, and all this for you
It’s love, and all this for you

Her Hands (day 835)

Her hands will die
Maker’s shoulder
Sifting clean sheets
Un-kept wicker

Lie not to her
Monotonous
Cold cold flower
Hold not wishes

Wind blows strong here
Lives hold on with
Tall tall top hats
Blurry shading

All I’ve covered
Dying grasses
Loudly told me
Surrender youth

Make me love her
Dying oak tree
Make me cry here
Falling dead leaves

Take me home my
Lonesome lover
Take me past all
Reverie then

And if this aye
Shall swerve this goat
To set me free
Shall make an end

Then ere warned
Five thousand shorn
A gooses neck
Death brings this end

Horizons Blurred (day 834)

I am sad and lonely
I am the glass that’s been all drunk
Walking along a long straight road
Horizons blurred
Sunlight’s hot
Another day

I am waiting to call your name
I am a symbol of fate
Setting my eyes upon the skies
Circling thoughts
Longest lost
Savior becoming

I am a wooden chair in dusty sunlight
I am spared another year
Reading dusty books
Too awake
Settling fate
Contemplating

It’s a Struggle (day 833)

The soul of a man was never here
There was never a judgement day
The seas never parted for sanctity
No dove soared over these skies

There was no path along the way
No dotted map mapped out
The road was never straight
And the going was never easy

I was never taught vowels to speak
Never held to stop the fall
My cuts were never cleaned
No wounds have ever healed

No grapes have ever grown here
The sky has never rained
Carrots have always stunted
No fruit truck ever stopped

There has never been love here
No kind touch from a woman’s hand
No laughter has ever sung here
No peace has ever been found

Aside (day 832)

Things I’ve left behind
Oh, things I’ve left aside
I’ve walked along the road
And down, down, down the ol’ block
Hands hidden deep
Beneath layers upon layers

Oh why did I sleep
Why did I take that lonely step
These times as they’ve left behind
Oh things I’ve left behind
Drag on the changes of my mind

Where does it go
Tell me, where does it all go
When I’m occupied
Searching for changes, aside
Oh, the things I’ve left behind
Why did I stop, time on my mind
Stumbling down this block

Onward (day 830)

Nothing can explain to me how shallow my pursuit has become
These little drops of innocence don’t break my heart
They tear away my idle hours in bright light fashion
They slit my throat while I stand idle gurgling in the clear air
And caress my weak sin with fabricated desire of adolescence

Here is where I float on, I laugh at distinction
That hands my soldiered frame a paper napkin
Attempting to regulate my copulating heart
Distracted in all it’s splendid gallantry by guns and money
Deeply seating my cold ways into the arms of anarchy
Leading astray the happy holidayers into darkened alleys
Filled with a sulk and a happy hour drink umbrella

Don’t crash my mission statement
Laying there idle in the parking lot
Affix the direction, ignite the heart!
Onward, my god man, onward to the stars
Let it be there and beyond, let it be the future!

More (day 826)

Don’t ask me to laugh
Only crying
Sad, long tears
Breaking apart
Tectonic plates
That built civilization
Erected skyscrapers
Tormented millions
With juggling sadness
Spurting
And sobbing
And shouting out for answers
Don’t ask for more
There isn’t remittance

Discarded (day 825)

Your memory burns holes in my completed journal
Dragging the p’s & j’s around like children in a mall
Pulsing through anything close enough to shake pixie dust upon
Twirls and whistling and long jackets in the night

You’ve wrinkled my conscience into sincere betrayal
Forgotten rhythm through night’s air
Leaving stranded the automobile it drove in on
While cat walking down graces majesty

This is my heart as it dies upon the ground
Squirming into uneasy night streets
Strangled by daylights necromancing
Leaving gutters full of old class notes

Between the Hours (day 823)

I think I forgot my whispers
Ones that wrote of yonder Princes
Striking down foreign conquerors
Wooing fair maidens
And stringing hearts of a thousand courtly ladies
While helping down the fair damosel
Just returned from toxic waters of journeyed shores

I think I forgot to share my love
To shout aloud upon the clouds
About the sky I journeyed to
As the lofty journeyer goes
Where lost was I upon seeing the hawk
And starlings grow
But couldn’t I, in all my guise
Demand a prize forever young

I never knew
I never dreamed
I never sat about the stream
For there I was
Tranquility
Shallow waters
Lost thought

I think I forgot an ancient order
That chivalry demanded
And Providence triumphed
That lasted ’til the morrow gathered
Which never came for long was laughter
Long were hands that guided home
Between the hours of jubilee & rest
