I am a glowing ember
A garden of love
Transposed into light
Fixating on your mind
And gently reminding you
How the sun rises every day
And each Spring
How the blossoms erupt
And the bees return
To bring you honey.

Snowy Vista (day 3123)
I awoke to find the land had changed
A gentle blanket had settled down
Covering what I could see
Sleeping in the trees.
Clouds had moved away and off
Left the day with a blue sky
One that reflected white;
Brightness hard to see.
So far there were no footsteps
Hiding all that humans had chose to leave,
This left deep peace upon my mind
Setting my regret for once free.
Wild Eagle (day 3120)
I am for the soaring Eagle
Bulletin, forward then,
Criss-crossing sky paths
Drop my heart and feel it gone
Swooping in vermin found
Call out in the wild!
Hurah! Enthralled return
To the nest far away
High up in the sky
Falling down, golden tail
Return again to sky.
Soon Spring (day 3117)
The weather is confused right now.
Gray skies are followed by white lies
That melt away into the pools,
And trees look like they’ve begun
To shoot their buds and grow.
But freezing weather makes every step
Across the yard treacherous,
And winds howl with such gusto
Makes one think it’ll never be Spring again!
Some days the sun shines
And as I wait for water bucket to fill
I draw moonscapes with my breath in the air.
Other days I take my hat
And stuff it into my pocket
And slip and slide as I make my way
Up the hill for a view
That may tell me, give me some hope,
Of a Spring that is just around the corner.
A Dream (day 3111)
I worked
Against the bugs
Against the winds
Against the offices
Calling my names
And stole my time
Against the setting sun
So I could watch
Another Spring
Sprouting up
The Anticipation of Spring (day 3109)
Droplets
Bare ground
Frozen fingers
Brown Grass in Winter (day 3100)
Waving
Seed pods and stalk
Resistance
A Sore Hand (day 3094)
Grip and tighten
Elbow to knuckle
Ricochet my thoughts.
Little Paw (day 3093)
I wondered lonely as a dog
Tail alert
And pointing to the stars.
A clump of grass
That has a faint scent
Now been marked
By my descent.
A marking of
A wild animal
Caused me to stay
A little while.
Rarely did
I find a path
So straightened that
I did not tarry,
Zig zag was
The route I led
One paw two paw
Three paw four,
Little tracks waiting
Out the door.
Ode to a Red Tail (day 3077)
In a screeching halt
The red tail swept in
Wings flashing
Gray and black
And a golden brown
Of its vibrant tail
Left me speechless
As I watched.
So mysterious,
So close to home,
So brave in its approach.
Then just as quick
Off in flight
Those big wings began to wave
Elegant and smooth
Like a ballroom dance
Off, beyond my sight.
