Lonely
Like this ghost
I whisper my secret stories
Unwilling to chill
My nervous twitch.
My veins have begun to bulge,
My forecast is for rain,
My tulips are still
A long cold wait away.
So this whisper caresses
My ghostly remains
Turning effortlessly
Against swirling wind,
And painting my brightness
Gray, weathered and stained.

Storm (day 3164)
Today the storm came
It rushed in with winds
Barreling right down
On the home
It tore open the gates
And released the chickens
It upended the coltsfood
And sent the peas all flying.
Abandon (day 2091)
This is our violence
Shatter brackets ripping through
Cleanly pressed materialism
A bomb drops
And two children cry
One for mother sky
Two for dust around
Tie a rock to the bottom of our soul
While tulips begin to grow
Above rusting piles
Of violent ricochet
Splinters of what should have done
But left walking alone
Through feral fields
An effort spent
Into misuse and abandon
Which we voted for
And raised flags proudly.
Innocent Safety (day 2057)
You don’t know the innocence
That I’ve crawled up against
Thundering spring
Amidst everything green
A crashing and splashing duck
Upon an early morning lake scene
And tulips are making their way
Into the mind of my safety.
Forever Sweet (day 1864)
If only tulips sang to me
As I was falling asleep
Like every single sparkling star
Sitting up so high.
If only rainbows
Were every thought I’d have
My mind would be forever sweet
And every hour would be afresh
From every morning shower.
If every rabbit that nibbled grass
Was my closest friend around
What conversations we’d both have
As we hobbled along our path.
If every river swept my troubles
Far away to sea
I’d be a sailor high up my mast
What liberty a man can be
Climbing up to thee.
A Little Hole (day 1784)
Whisper in a little hole
Hold a deep deep breath
Extrapolate
Break strong bonds of resonate
Into a golden fire
Or let it gravitate
Magnetate
Magnetize those eyes
Ride on in a long line of sleepy songs
Brazen with a golden rod
In a tap tap world of
Like and go,
Like and go
And keep whispering
To a lost princess
Holding on to spring’s first tulips
Little Puddles (day 1626)
Mystify my soul
Let letters drip down nectar
That wash away
– Pause. Dramatic Pause. –
And let tulips become beacons
Of this desire,
Leaving little puddles
To splash in
Every day.
Dripping (day 1544)
I am the elegant sign you’ve been off the deep end for.
Hanging on a railing, dipping into clear lakes,
Walking with the scent of sun-kissed-yellow tulips.
Trouble is a memory; blind leading, a road and I have faith.
Can you get a wild feeling on bad betting machine?
Sing songs with a quite tongue and I will listen for.
And it is here and I am evermore.
A spell of clear reflections of which I did implore.
And I stand here, just as morning, dripping for you.
Honest Greenthumb-Man (day 1230)
I grow my tulips in large wooden buckets
Pansies are higher, in small clay potters
Resting precariously upon railings and windowsills
Then here we have hanging from awnings and perches
Creative little baskets filled up within:
Snap dragons, petunias, geraniums, lobelia
All overflowing with blossoms of life
Watering is fun for you know when it’s done
By the stream of water flowing out the base
Now off to the side of this here green kept lawn
Is a boxed off topsoil-rich haven of growth
Strictly for vegetables and strong smelling herbs
Which will feed me this summer
Well, most of the summer, after they’ve ripened
After they’ve grown high and wide
Some of them root plants, digging into earth
I’ve built up on rows to give them wide birth
Others are leafy greens with big flapping wings
Reaching out high for the hot summer sun
One row I planted with mixed lettuce fantasia
Its colours range wide, from green, purple, yellow
Well, that is my garden, my flowers and vegetables
It isn’t that big, and it’s grown a little wild
But it makes an honest greenthumb-man out of me.
Johnny Johnny Say-So (day 673)
Tulip too long
I’ve grown a song
For you, it’s done
And it is long
The day does shine
As we break rhyme
Jesters of mine
We pass the time
Watch as I roll
A simple stroll
One modest toll
Where I dare loll
Aha! You see!
We can not flee
You there and me
So full of glee
No road shall end
No man shall bend
We sew and mend
Don’t dare offend
You see, my guest
With all the rest
Courtly the best
You say I jest?
Not I, I say
On this fine day
I walk and play
It is my way
We walk and sing
And cowbells ring!
Up up we swing
Then down laughing!
