Spring around the corner
Spreading all it’s heartfelt warmth
Reminds me of your touched embrace
Glowing readily, evermore.
It reminds me of a melting snowdrift
One drop at a time
Collecting a little puddle of water
Soon to be overflowing
Slowly trickling down
Small valleys that gather more,
Filling up so quickly
Like the coming season nearer
And my heart when you are here.

Seasons
My main emblems
Have begun to fade
Into a soft glow
An aura
Of whispers and tilting
With wind bending
My point of view
So that birds land
Upon my boughs
To which I can take
No meaning hidden
And softly acknowledge
Ancient Gaia’s shift
As seasons go.
Garlic (day 3215)
Graft me to a garlic bulb
So I can be the first one up in Spring
Aroma for a fine cuisine
Tastier than soupine
And when the season’s over and done
Hang me from the rafter
So I can be saved away
To remember Summer’s sway.
Nigh (day 3108)
Forgive me
If it is not in my name
I cannot blame the moon
Nor can I blame the season
I cannot source my troubles
From elsewhere in the land
For I am me, this being,
Standing and worn
And it is I
Who hath lost all
That receives me
Into my good nature.
Gold Tear (day 3057)
I cried gold tears I had come to know
No more secrets inside this heart
Pure intention overcame my thought
A long lost truth and a button loose
On the esplanade of my everglade.
Growing reasons to never shade
All this time that has sped away,
So the tears they come and fold my day
Like ancient seasons always fade
In a grown up field and apple trees
Fruit of touch and the little seed
Waving in this midday breeze
And my luck caught in a tear.
A Dance Too Good For Life (day 3038)
As if the earth could ever see
Darwinian modes of ease
To see a leaf upon a tree
Blowing about the stem
Back and forth with every grace
A dance I could never trace
Delicate as a flower in bloom
Tough as nails that close a tomb
To anchor a setting sun
Upon the branch that bursts the buds
Then grouping in a seasonal array
One of Summer’s finest delights
That change the landscape one dare not stop
For as the bud shifts to a stem
Stem to a new growth
New growth takes the sprint of life
To bursting red and orange and brown
Then in one last graceful dance
A leap too good for chance to take
Downward left to fall away
Death pose into finale.
Window / Brainwork (day 2972)
Windows rush into my brain
Crying for no pain
Then as release comes alive
A target of surprise
Moments shift into a view
Causing shifts into wind
And slowly what was a gold tree
Looses its leaves in sly
Shut and closed for weather seal
Locked for another season
Bushel (day 2954)
This is not the answer nor should it be left misunderstood
Gods carefully listened but none took action
Forgotten and dead lay the bushel of corn
Raspy, hoarse, brown
Thickening day lay low
And Divine Interpretation was a plan that could not be laid
For dead leaves had fallen and no new growth was expected
Until the decaying layers of slumber departed
Swift onset of thaw set in for another season under her breast.
Pale Roses (day 2819)
And today I shall lay here
Covered in pale roses
Trying to remember
What I could never hold on to
For it has slipped
It has risen from my clutches
To escape into thin air
Like landscapes turning seasons
And wind carrying seeds
It has shifted
And now it is I
Left here invincible
Carrying these pale roses
With nothing but a dry, empty vase
Crystalline.
Rest (day 2730)
How could it be informal
For a season to shift away
Lose ones leaves, harvest frost
Whither and die away.
And in the grand finale,
The final shift of light
Sprinkled with white snow,
A rest forever known.
