Forever Sweet (day 1864)

If only tulips sang to me
As I was falling asleep
Like every single sparkling star
Sitting up so high.
If only rainbows
Were every thought I’d have
My mind would be forever sweet
And every hour would be afresh
From every morning shower.
If every rabbit that nibbled grass
Was my closest friend around
What conversations we’d both have
As we hobbled along our path.
If every river swept my troubles
Far away to sea
I’d be a sailor high up my mast
What liberty a man can be
Climbing up to thee.

Heart & Soul (day 1779)

When I crawled to the edge of a forever span
I got so close to a miracle
I laid my nose right down to the stone
And breathed in the dirt that was my heart and soul

When I reached so high from the up most top
My mind was scorching in an unbent sky
With rainbows and eagles far below
I was a full thought in a twinkling eye

When I caused each leaf to rock and sway
From an ebb and flow in my very glow
I sent my prana to behold the world
To return double-fold, with such secrets that’d never been told.

Evening Rainbow (day 1564)

I watched a rainbow slowly cross the sky last night,
Wishing upon the earth two saintly moments of fleeting clarity
That soon washed into the sea
With a distant siren that bled maroon.
My kaleidescope of love patterned Opalesque
Onto the back of my hand,
Which I watched like a psychedelic memory
Until once again the giant autumn sun
Quivered in the darkening sky
And laid its sleepy plans and rustic tools down
For an evening of mystery and forbidden colors.

Ashram Day 16 (day 1419)

Dance with me now
Through effortless flow:
Thick overgrown trail,
Dandelion row.

Dance with me now
On windowsills: old,
Like old and refreshed;
Long love letters confessed.

Dance with me now
Where colors match rainbows,
In tropical poison
I am your randsom.

Dance with me now
Sunrise to sunset,
Typeset and subset,
Tea set with chocolate.

Slithering Madness (day 818)

Don’t cry into an uneven pillbox
Shuffling against the rainbow mirrors
I can see you shifting madly
I can see your soul aglow
Haven’t you seen my stardust
I left it by the tower
It’s pounded into them
Some recesses out at sea
But if you’ve come to know me
Then cry at my back doors
For I shall treat you kindly
Without qualm or unnecessary greed
Dive with me into madness
And sugar coat it as we play

Senses (day 533)

Thank you for the breath that I breathe
For the grass that grows green
And then dies in the fall

Thank you for the eyes that give me color
Shades of the rainbow from the sun
And white from the cold

Thank you for the smell from my nose
Fresh turkey from the oven
And wet paint on a canvas

Thank you for the strength in my bones
That lead me into tomorrow
With every step that I take

Thank you for the touch at my fingertips
Dancing happily over exposed skin
Searching blindly in the dark

Thank you for the thought that I think
Setting my plans and my goals
And being blessed with love in my heart

The Good Things (day 175)

The heart of gold
The bubbles in a champagne flute
The dots on the i’s
The fragrance in the flower
The sun behind the clouds
The laughter from a child
The rainbow in the rain
The pride in a win
The clean sheets after laundry day
The A+ on the report card
The warm soup on a cold day
The tears in Casablanca
The full roll of toilet paper
The sunlight on the sea
The twinkle in the eye
The smell of sea salt on the wind
The clean pair of undies
The dollar down the couch
The full fridge of food
The last piece of chocolate
The window seat
The final keystroke
The cookies in the oven
The secret admirer
The phone call from mom
The belch after a fine meal
The slow song with a dance partner
The look from across the room
The old noir film, with Audrey Hepburn of course
the pressed flower, forgotten in a book
The fall leaves, brilliantly shining
The secretly witnessed kiss
The friend at the front of the line

~ This poem is a collection of the conversation my dear friend @thelongsilence of twitter and I had, discussing the illustrious @tjpou, who you can gather each of our feelings towards in this dialogue. For the record, I started it with “The heart of gold”, and we alternated from there.
