A Path (day 3016)

I wish for you to empty out
Each basket holding you back
So that the path from you to me
Could speedily find you at.
Not tangled like a natures saunter;
Not alarming like a highway;
Tender like a flower garden
A single track runs through
Worn raw to expose the soil
Frequent use and travel;
A favourite tree along the way
Picked and always greeted;
A bush that stands so proud and full
For one sweet season of the sun;
And at last the view of me to you
A happy moment dearly awaited
Greeting from an open door
Opened at my very soul.

Ghost Path (day 3011)

I want to believe that I’m the ghost
Walking through the woods;
One small cackle,
A broken branch,
An index of places been before.
I collapse
And am the definition of un-sturdy
For my limbs are limp,
My eyes deep blue pale,
My skin, the colour of
Ten thousand sins
Washed with a rectangular bar of soap,
And hair touching my shoulders
That feels like spider webs
Through a barely audible path.

Upon This Spot (day 3039)

Here, my dear
Let us take to rest,
Let us close our eyes and listen
To distant gulls and wind blowing
In the air so clear it’s effervescent
As we lay upon this grass
Freshly cut just so.
I wonder how, in times of y’or,
Two lovers could walk a path
Taking them to a similar clearing
Groundskeeper had made avail.
Or would they wander
Amidst a forest
Criss-crossed with paths
To and From
Neighbours seeking neighbours.
How lucky we are
To share a spot
Sunlight here, so dear.
Your cheek resting so close to mine
Lips so tender here.
Let us take this moment
To talk of what wonders we dare,
To have you lay close in my arms.
Your sun the warmth in my heart
You near, my very cheer.

Shared (day 2927)

You have listened to my words
I have spoken now twice
Clearly, slowly, concisely, too
With hopes I can bring you
Closer to my open mind
Closer to our connection
That brings us growth in tune
To a respectful harmony.

I have listened to your words
Once spoke, twice shared
In the way you best can open
A way we’ve learned to communicate.
I’ve seen the glow amidst your eyes,
I’ve heard your heart beating,
I know your truth is openly
Shared upon your sleeve.

So as we move forward in harmony
To each other without relent,
Reaching out to reach within
Let me know my name
That glows inside your history
Marks you upon your path
And let our tunes be spoken at once
Shared, and shared again.

Stuffing Dance (day 2903)

I’m getting tired of this dance
Stuffing our faces
With experiences
We dont know if we enjoy.
Who designed our minds?
Who gave us this style inprint
That requires consistent change?
Updating, renewing, regulating…
There is no end game
It’s just a consume point,
Many consume points
That filter me
Based on my character profile
That I work hard at eliminating
Because I’m a stereotype
Who doesn’t like being stereotyped.
I’m entitled to use my words
More than I use my action,
And I take pains to twist words
To judge others
Before I myself
Be my harshest critics.
Lost on a translation
Misunderstanding,
This changing time…
Imagining a different world
We hope to be in
But refusing to acknowledge
The disconnect
With a path that is too far gone.

Flora (day 2895)

I finally lost it
Dying embers of a blue hidden sun
Closing in on the gypsy caravan
Callused and tired
Sweat perspiring in long streaks
Nostrils flairing
Slight rustling of nearby poplar trees
And the echo of every footstep
Beating out of tune with thy heartbeat.
One last moment
Erased the pain
No longer present
Between shoulder blades and spine,
A hoot broke the echoing
Going deeper inside my brain
A distant owl
Awake to the day
Unaware the danger
Of finding myself in
So the path led twisting
Towards a deeper understanding
Of fungii and lichen
Flora and the rot of its day
Until the madness set in
Spiraling to tree tops touching open sky
And a little beaver dam turned waterfall
Gurgling goodnight.

Remembering Me (day 2879)

For what I shall not remember here
I shall lay these grasses aside
I shall divide my remaining seeds
And plant my memory
So that in ten thousand days
I can outline my path
Each softening step along the way
That grew me into self
Until I reach the place
I’m trying to lead myself too
Where each my different voice
Rest knowing what I do not know.

Backwards Memory (day 2872)

I awoke into a dream
That had me backwards memory
Two and two made half is 1
Double meant I’d run
Crossed my fingers
And crossed the bridge
Danced a jig to celebrate
With a bear who spoke my name
While two wise men
Who carried a bag
Came up to me to say
“God, young son,
Will find your way
If you close your eyes and stay.”
So off I went
In the heart of lent
Dancing bear no more
A river bent
My onward path
So I swam into the middle
Where I found my enemy
A rock, so heavy
Floated off the levy
And made it home in time
To dine.

I Thought You Were Here (day 2816)

I thought you were here,
Then my summer began.
I took you on every trip.
Turned down by the big creek,
Headed on in deep;
Dirt and the sand
And everything ran.

I thought you were here,
Ready to join in.
I cut out a path
To the big ol’ pine,
We hid in the rain
Out of everyone’s pain.

I thought you were here,
Always at my front door.
I heard you come up,
Saw the look in your eyes,
Never thought I’d lose
Deep sand and my blues
Ended with everything for you.

Mister One and Mister Two (day 2802)

Find me if you can
I wont be singing at the gates
Found a path
That led me down a mountain road.

Came upon two pillars
I took to calling affectionately
Mister One and Mister Two.

Hello, how are you,
It’s good to find you here
I have come from far
And I’ve got a bit to go
Share a tea, I’ve got enough for three.

And a bird came
Whistling to me
That took me off
To find a beautiful melody
Since that was all
I had ever hoped
Would find me here.
