In The Heart (day 3213)

I realize my game has lost momentum
No longer playing with Neptune and Mars
But hormones and galaxies
Wise words and future revelations.
I watch grass blow in the wind
And robins search unending
For a game no longer visible
But in the heart, always remains
What momentum’s friendly name.

Momentum (day 2986)

Momentum came and called my name
Whispered three rules to follow suit
I heard each one that echoed deep
Settled with a gnawing sting.

Trusting you is like trusting sin
Each and every time within
Glowing embers of this heart
So balance my very claws.

Thus when the clock struck
An unruly hour, so late,
I awoke the glowing fire
Momentum now my name.

Presence (day 2681)

So she stayed there
Locked to a presence
That had long since faded
She sat lonely at the window
Sighing deeply to herself
Unable to find within
Momentum to change without
“But that was fate.”
She told herself
Repeating the words
In a trance
Until the tears began
And presence was indeed felt
