Winter came
Now the storm has passed
But your touch
No longer here
But in our hearts
Your soul lives strong
Forever so close
So dear
That when I close
My eyes I hear
How loudly
Your soul
Did shine
Tag: here
Defiantly Apart (day 3074)
Do you know that I’m here?
I want to know that you’re here
I want to feel your breath
Upon my naked shoulder
Staying strong
For the burden I do lay
So that I can be your man.
I want my bed to feel accompanied
By your bones that thump into me,
I want to squeeze
What your body throws at me,
And I want to believe
What I already know
The truth I have already seen
Deep within your eyes
That look back at me
Sometimes defiantly.
Speak to Me (day 2976)
Speak to me
Brush aside my wisdom
For I am open to your heart
I call Red
But listen in Brown and Gray
And there shall be no mistake
For I am here
So speak to me
I Thought You Were Here (day 2816)
I thought you were here,
Then my summer began.
I took you on every trip.
Turned down by the big creek,
Headed on in deep;
Dirt and the sand
And everything ran.
I thought you were here,
Ready to join in.
I cut out a path
To the big ol’ pine,
We hid in the rain
Out of everyone’s pain.
I thought you were here,
Always at my front door.
I heard you come up,
Saw the look in your eyes,
Never thought I’d lose
Deep sand and my blues
Ended with everything for you.
No, Not Lost (day 2634)
I tried to make it out of here
To a land I’d never been
But as the roads
Familiar to me
Led me back again
I realized I had always been
Here, forevermore.
Trod (day 482)
It seems like Ive been wandering
Through towns that make no sense to me
But the names come and go by quick
As the time does pass my way
But here and there I meet a face
Who calls at my soul to clear
And then in my time I shout and laugh
With a man who has shared his food with thine
While quickly as I trod about here and there
I find out the neighborhoods that do call my name
I know what does interest such a soul as thee
To capture my imagination for future plans
But the strangest of things happen when out all alone
When I’m much to far past the places I know
A certain force does take over, a whim and a will
Something that leads me on forth
And with this dear force that bites at my heels
I do not tarry long at much distress
For all that I see, and all that does come
Makes my mind at ease as I trod
