A Bike Ride (day 383)

The wheels as they lurch spin round and round
Against the hard earth laid down in progress
The path weaves, lights they flicker
The ride home is always this way
The ride home it always reminds me of beautiful

Along the way the road’s in patches
Rough roadwork rears it’s ugly head here and there
Tram tracks unevenly yell at the tires
The cobblestones they tickle the fenders
And the wheels they go round and round

Perhaps it’s the passing cars that pull you along
Legs pumping with jubilant glee
Forever left with a burning inside
Wind in the hair leaves bugs in thou eyes

The Sweet Hum (day 265)

It’s cold
I sit here alone in my car
Typing away at the soiled keys
Listening to the sweet hum of tires on pavement
Rush about me in their packaged up scuttle

But I’m bloody cold
My fingers are slowing with the intensity of their fallacy
But who cares, I ain’t fucking hungry
Save for the warm breath of an enchanting companion
Watching me as I shift the gears

I’m ok, I’ll live in the end
I’ll face the bitter truth as I walk the streets alone
Nobody feels the pain anymore, it’s just the same
The ever dying pressures of this cruel world
And I’ll be happy, I’ll show them all

The Heavens (day 195)

This journey has been tortured and turned with the omnipresent glare of the eagle
The desires of conquest have been hindered by the scorn of angels
The love has never been spared by cupid, nor by a hungry lover’s eyes
Yet the gears still turn, the ride still rolls

This ascent has been beaten with brutality of breath
Baited with the promise of one pure and descending glance towards the worlds we’ve passed through
A view from the heavens, a wonderfully epic moment of hysteria
As the clouds below part and clarity is felt like the needle sinking in

Mother, won’t you cry with me, die with me
As the young ladies last romance curled its gnarly fingers around the seeping demise
Withered air collapsing into the cruel hands of zero gravity
Mother, won’t you cry with me? Die with me.
