Would you cross Dragon river
For an ancient vision?
A world so wild
It seems chaos,
Nothing we can comprehend.
But over there
The drink is good
So freely handed out,
And Horses sit
At card tables
Betting all or nothing again.
The Trees are big
– So gorgeously big –
They take up most the sky,
Very top of horizon!
Monkeys swing from branch to branch
Dropping sweet surprises
Onto hats passing Frolickers
In bed with Froliquettes.
Would you cross that Dragon river
To step upon the other side?
Or would you tighten up your belt
And square down your hat?

One Drink Past Midnight (day 2441)
Let this night be ever young
No matter which hour it strikes
For a heart cares not
About such trivial time
When setting about a passion.
And if a drink should come to spoil
May it be blamed on desired focus,
Not a trick of some lost soul
Begging for another.
Two by Two Waltz (day 2428)
Dear, let’s take a walk
Two by two by arm I’ll lead
Romantic waltz through midnight streets
Sure, let’s grab a drink or more
This warm fuzzy café seems fit
Midnight streets where cheer spills onto
Lamppost covered sidewalks
Eyes meet you and a neck with a scarf
Ellipses and unravels around
Midnight streets we’ve begun to walk
Arm in arm and a drink or two
A park for us, a surrounding pond
Lamp lit trails that rosey our noseys
To help our midnight souls unwind
Along a path our footsteps take us back
Two by two to midnight’s eve
And our happy songs linger on
In a snowy doorstep
Leaf of Spring (day 1896)
There has been granted
Two leaves into my life:
One has been a jewel
One has been a cause.
And as it speaks its soul out loud
The vision becomes clear
And so does all the madness lay
Into a pit: despair.
But who should laugh?
Who should lament?
Who should run along the car?
Leave so slow, alone.
Who should drink the coldest drops
From deepest drop of well?
I am a poplar set in dirt
I am the fraying skin
But as my heart becomes again
I becometh leaf of spring.
Golden Drink (day 1854)
I’m running around
In cat screetching circles
Complete darkness
And two golden girls;
How do the ends come,
How do we lay down plans?
And as we watched the twilight spread
A little voice came and said:
“Let your vices go
All shall be good
And in the morning you will
Return once again to drink.”
Into Thy Purity (day 1485)
Held in me: Lion, I am pure roar.
If you: thy Queen, I thee King.
Shake my heart in to this vase,
Drink me in entirety
Leave not a drop to tell the tale.
Surface.
Let this not be of thy guide,
Let this be inward
For in this is purity.
Dismal Fortunes on a Friday Night (day 1347)
This is a craft
Which we all become embedded to
If it weren’t for the luck,
What have you for a recent drink?
A Happy American Family (day 1063)
You drink your absence
Into forgotten memories,
And I write my sorrows
Into the sofa pillows.
And we serenade each other
With silent, obedient observance
To make us
A happy American family.
To wake us tomorrow,
Again, for work.
Un-Adulterated (day 94)
The four, they wandered
Still a few hours from dark
One with a drink
One with a skirt
And leggings to reduce the flirt
It was easy to tell
For I had been there before
That they all had one thought
Clearly on their minds
To reduce the night to moments alone
A moment to remember for a year
A day, many years later
That will come all the greater
Shall remind gone of your youth
