So It Came (part II) (day 3175)

(part I)

Fear is the real danger
Leader of all
The most death in the world
Fear drives wars,
Hate crimes,
Abundant stress,
That zaps the will to live
Out of any who harbour him.
And Fear was let in
Welcomed in
As if being a responsible human
Was letting Fear
Into our homes
Just as Money had
Changed all our minds
So too began Fear
To change the minds
Of those who welcomed him.

(part III)

Guiding Archangels (day 1003)

We each remember our stories just a little bit harder
– A little bit longer in tooth –
With vinegar to keep infection afar.
And in our judgement, our fantasy act
We search for crime, and it’s partner punishment
To soothe our broken bones that lay
About the floor in disarray.
But as lost is all that has begun
If for whatever reason we hold onto none
Then let our hearts beat madness
Pitter-pattering our footsteps forth
Into cold days of snowy forgiveness
That crawl away as we push back the tears
Singing sweet songs to our guiding Archangels

All Night Diner (day 574)

I walk away with 10 lbs of guilt
Drying out at the side of an all night diner
Pissing in pots for immediate release
Burgers for the greedy
With fries

Where I once felt free
In the shady hours of the night
I no longer lurk with the victims of crime
Sitting cross legged at the altar
Single candle burning

I comfort my sentence with salt
Easing the napkin under the table
As I sandwich my regret between two sesame seed buns
Smelling redemption
Smiling in content
