Eleven Seconds

Don’t install me in an ambient
I want kaleidoscope
Forgive me in an understanding
That I’m yet to come upon
This could have been my memory
Shaken from the slope
Dropping little apple
Fallen from the tree
Whisper late night
And be me and both again
For beginning with the smallest cloth
I woke up
And eleven seconds.

Gold Tear (day 3057)

I cried gold tears I had come to know
No more secrets inside this heart
Pure intention overcame my thought
A long lost truth and a button loose
On the esplanade of my everglade.
Growing reasons to never shade
All this time that has sped away,
So the tears they come and fold my day
Like ancient seasons always fade
In a grown up field and apple trees
Fruit of touch and the little seed
Waving in this midday breeze
And my luck caught in a tear.

Harvest (day 2607)

There’s a warm wind blowin’ ’round here
Sky’s been turning red
Dog keeps pawing at me
Leaves’ve started fallin’ down
I’ve got one too many fancies
Rollin’ on down the road
Keeps my mind a wondering
Even as I lay in bed
Had to work hard for it
Found it in a single apple
That I caught just before it
Found its way to the ground
So I’ll keep watching
For you at the harvest

Apples (day 2543)

I dream of an apple that comes in many varieties
One so diverse it can only be spoken in gutteral movements
So loud it can hardly be swallowed
And so vivacious that even the clowns turn their heads and stare
And when this apple has come to life
A bounty shall follow freely
Where all that’s needed will carry forth
Fruitful seed in spring rains cracking
Momentum in earth so rich;
Deep into heart of gold forever fills the pallette
Like a warm cider by the fire
And my season of the sun well spent.

Apples (day 2538)

I dream of an apple that comes in many varieties
One so diverse it can only be spoken of in gutteral movements
So loud it can hardly be swallowed
And so vivacious that even clowns turn their heads and stare.
And when this apple has bent down low,
A bounty shall follow as nectar flow
Fruitful seeds spread in spring rains
Cracking open splendor of new mirth;
Of each crunchy bite
A heart of gold emerges
Pallette of sacred union
As a cider by the fire.

Honey Bee Stay With Me (day 2451)

Little honey bee stay with me
Stay for tea and summer sun
Lingering here in Autumn day
Sweet harvest to where we roam
Toadstools, apples, tomatillos!
Hungry deer may join our cheer
We’ll find blackberry bushes near
A fruit so treasured by all who eat
Stained fingers with every touch!
Fill our bellies till we are silly
Roll around in thigh high grass
To the forest for a midday flurry
A hunt for salal and its fair berry
Garland for every arranged bouquet
That shall join us later as we sup
On lettuce and radish and beets just up
Found over, beyond the trees,
So stay with me, I’ll let you free
Wander over to the cherry, honey bee
I’ll find you just the right sunflower
To sit by, and enjoy delight.

Wild Meadows (day 2150)

Where the wind blows
My saddle shall rise
O’r the wild meadows she goes

When the birds wake me
My boots shall speed thee
O’r the wild meadows she goes

When the waves crash down
My trumpets shall shine
O’r the wild meadows she goes

Where the apple falls
My basket shall heave
O’r the wild meadows she goes

When the Lady calls for
My heart evermore then
O’r the wild meadows she goes

Ode to the Apple (day 1914)

I walk the orchard with eyes so wild
Heart so strong and free
I look towards where you fall from
Then bob back to where you’re from.

A-joy I see as each new leaf
Spreads out with all it’s cheer
And my heart leaps at every blossom
An orb of what’s setting free.

Into my hand I hold on to thee
Like miracle of child birth
Soon to be returned to earth
My footsteps weave through the orchard.
