What brings the soul of a man
Deep within the palm of his hand?
For I have seen two men astray
Neither I tried to save.
In the grace of our Gods
We stand before each war we fought
Did we strike the hammer strong
Or lose out before our lungs
Belted loud our souls devout.
Have I faced the pain inside?
Did I let my body cry?
Was it I who charged ahead
Though each wind spoke up in dread?
Tell me sweetly in my good ear
Was I faithful to each your dream
Can I be the trusted man
Of your every step?
For I hold my palms open
To feel the warmth of every day
I have spoken out your name
In hopes it leads my heart so true
And if it shall bring my life astray
May I be the man to say
My palms are wet.

Reworking (day 3202)
I’ve roamed here before
Last years summer heat
Lazing about the full grass
Cautioning the flies
That swell when the breeze dies down.
These cows they look familiar
But the birds, they’re all new
They have a shrill
That reminds me of chicks
Taking flight for the first time.
I’ll watch the leaves blow
Flashing me their white underbellies,
A reminder that even trees
Have a sensitive side
And to mind where I choose to reap
So that even the Sun knows
I have heeded its cry.
Leftover Grass (day 3172)
Today I watched a piece of grass
Leftover from last Autumn
Blow about its stalky stout
In early morning Wind,
As it had so clearly done
Manys a time before.
It bent at its very base
Roots that held it strong,
Coupled there to the Earth
Untrained and unsung.
Passing Giving (day 3171)
Dont let the feeling of our lives
Get in the way of you
Like cloudy skies
And rainbow sunrise
A fleeting vision of right now
Passing moments of our tune
Stand, bending in the breeze,
And open up our giving vessel
To channel any way.
About Stars (day 3169)
It was written for you
At first, simply
But after much attention
It became elaborate
Delicate
Comforting
And filled
With the things we love
About stars.
Selene (day 3154)
Watch this energy
From our moon
Rise and fall again
She comes and goes
Wiles and whims,
Which cycle is she in?
Look towards evening sky
Might you not see her tonight?
For she cycles
Twelve hours and twenty five minutes
To pull our bones
In gravity
Selene of our mind.
Sunflower (day 3153)
You woke up in a sunshine day
So brightly in the field
Born among crop grasses and herbs
You rose above the rest.
And now each morning
You rise awake
East your morning face,
Track sun through day lit sky
And say goodnight
To Western sunset
Sweetly for the night.
Summer Distraction (day 3149)
She lay next to him
Like summer grass in the pasture.
Each scent
Of sweet honey flowers
Filled his senses
With lust
Only a lover could do.
And there was no time
Finding its way
Into their hearts
In urgency,
Just a bee
Distracted and drunk.
