That Was Then (day 2863)

If that was then
Then this is by no means the end,
Two wheels rolling
And clouds so clear
Even birds faintly pass between them.

A dollar is gone.
Was it an even game?

A hand that served up
Delicious things, unnamed.
An engine that roared
As it began.

Lucky is every lost soul traveling on;
Full tank and such sweetness of a radio,
Then by two, sun’s beating in
Escaping for a moment into shade.
Watch Clouds and every bird so clear.

That was then and now is the end.

Pendulum Whispers (day 1601)

Surely whispers slowly yell –
To build out the axis
Layered in love:
An uneven groundscape of
Imagination and patience,
And I am not alone.
No, I am the average
Of simple moving axis
Shifting at the speed of
Your roaming wheels,
And a leafy autumn
In the midday sun.
This is the whisper of
Slow motion in a pendulum.

Bicycle (day 639)

Your marvelous wheels
That catch a shining glare
Turn all the girls heads
When we roll on by
Summer golden locks
With pink crop tops
Big eyed shades
It’s gelato time
And racing through parks
Jacket flowing wide
Wind in my hair
Big smile on my eyes
Freedom!
Freedom at last!
As we curl past the final gazebo
Home stretch in front
We’ll stop just in time

Orbiting Madness (day 562)

Relentless pursuit with a speed limit in sight
Wheels squealing and a dagger is late
Fists are for outlaws to throw in the air
After escaping the law
Running wild and free

Faster and faster the engine it screams
Red passion in madness alert calling in sirens
Perforated edge and an eruption in joy
I’ve run to the hill tops
And let it go bare

Orbiting madness that spins round and round
Full on the skull it renders little harm
Slight quickening of the pulses
Pulling at my senses
The road down isn’t long

A Bike Ride (day 383)

The wheels as they lurch spin round and round
Against the hard earth laid down in progress
The path weaves, lights they flicker
The ride home is always this way
The ride home it always reminds me of beautiful

Along the way the road’s in patches
Rough roadwork rears it’s ugly head here and there
Tram tracks unevenly yell at the tires
The cobblestones they tickle the fenders
And the wheels they go round and round

Perhaps it’s the passing cars that pull you along
Legs pumping with jubilant glee
Forever left with a burning inside
Wind in the hair leaves bugs in thou eyes

Lips (day 183)

Flapping the wheels go round and round
Waving the children; move right along
Lips they motion the absence of time
Lips they motion the absence of time

Wrap me in cashmere, watch it unwind
Peel it back slowly, wasting our time
Lips they crawl: searching, imploring
Lips they crawl: searching, imploring

Never mind what’s in the rhyme
Focus the grind on movement inside
Lips in the dark make movement less cautious
Lips in the dark make movement less cautious

Only today will bring us happiness
Forget tomorrow, I’ll follow you there
Lips remind me I’ve got no more searching
Lips remind me I’ve got no more searching

Effort (day 28)

Gravitation like centrifugal force
Pulls its weight inward
Sinking ships and attracting comets
Similar to love; laws of attraction

Within this game of wheels and barriers
Around this ball of burning flame
Sinks the demon you’ve played again
Round and round and dig much deeper

The efforts there, aside the sticks
Counting pegs like cribbage pricks
Blowing out the energy within
This is the game; lead from within
