Sky Fire (day 2578)

I’m running around with two lines, and I dont know how to die
My fierce warrior yells at me, reminds me: YOU ARE THE SKY
And hello in there, hello in there
Hello I am the wind
Beating down upon the night
As cold sets in
Then all at once
My faint whisper of hope; candle
Flickers, sputters, wavers, jumps
Then beats onward, my fire.

Two by Twelve (day 2577)

We lost you in a barren pit
Two by twelve stretched all around
One by one you took away
Your brace you had so laid
Helping us building here
Stronger set the mark.

We learn to grow just like Tree
Just like vine climbs high
Seed’s all spent and day’s well gone
Fire’s let run to ash.

When we find our sweetened path
A lane between our vein
Our supporting brace for each new tree
Rewinding our just cause
To set away a golden rule
Piercing scream into night.

Two by Two Waltz (day 2428)

Dear, let’s take a walk
Two by two by arm I’ll lead
Romantic waltz through midnight streets
Sure, let’s grab a drink or more
This warm fuzzy café seems fit
Midnight streets where cheer spills onto
Lamppost covered sidewalks
Eyes meet you and a neck with a scarf
Ellipses and unravels around
Midnight streets we’ve begun to walk
Arm in arm and a drink or two
A park for us, a surrounding pond
Lamp lit trails that rosey our noseys
To help our midnight souls unwind
Along a path our footsteps take us back
Two by two to midnight’s eve
And our happy songs linger on
In a snowy doorstep

My Last Innocent Breath (day 2315)

For this I shall save
My last innocent breath,
A welcoming insight
Of two parts become one.

I shall forget what has never been,
What has torn at me,
What has floated free,
What has carried our distance
Unbeknownst for so long,
I shall not be blinded
By our history.

For this I shall save
My last innocent breath,
A chance of starlight
Emerging upon me.

It is for this that I shall wake
From slumber and deluge
Sprouting of new life
Upon the trunk of ancient ilk
Upon these paths formed
Carrying my thoughts
On towards you.

For this I shall save
My last innocent breath,
A ceremony of mine
Just in time.

Notes (day 2296)

On the note that I wrote
I said I wasn’t able to grow
It had two long names
I’m not about to repeat
But at the end of the letter
I had two last words
That never came out
Because I had become afraid of you
And then I left unheard
With a broom in my hand
Sweeping up each piece
That shattered as I wept
About the loss of a book
Written two pages at a time
As if it knew it’s turn
And I shall not return
For I have a note in my pocket.

Alone Can Be (day 1934)

How alone can alone be
When tapping at my window comes
A shadow with two fingers saying
Come out with me to sing and play.
Alone these moments of my heart
Listen like an alert lark
Shaken with a little limb
That has one leaf still hanging on.
And ever in my mind, alone,
I find a whisper calmly saying
You’re ok now, you’re home with me,
Alone here as alone can be.

Spare Quarters (day 1917)

She was nothing but a distant beggar
Dancing wildly on thin ice,
Rickety chainsaw boots scraping sidewalks
Of spare quarters lodged between pebbles
And ‘Hey Mister.’
But who was watching?
Who counted every slow swagger
That climaxed with her sweet promises
And loud exclamations,
That brought wide eyes school boys
Glaring wildly out big window doors.
Who paid attention to her exploits,
Lude and brazen as she was
With a fanny pack packed with fanny.
She held meaning in some cheapskates heart,
Some rumbling bumbler
Who intoxicated himself with used needles
And flattened cigarette butts.
He was two strings for his six string guitar
And knew better then the wide eyed schoolboys.

Filled (day 1739)

A long lifeless walk
Held my hand
As I began
My casually glancing around
With two by two
And one after you
In a game cat jumped over the moon.
Twigs and branches
And needles doing dances
For the stoop of my boot.
Till the hour I find
A guest on my mind,
I’ll return to an abode filled with warmth.
