Summer Fun (day 708)

Today’s a new day
Birds on my way
Around in the park
Amidst old fallen bark

I walk for my health
Native American stealth
Dipping and dashing
Jumping and splashing

Warm weather’s blowing
Gone is the snowing
Green shoots are showing
Life begins glowing

Where naked the trees
In cool winter’s breeze
Soon shall be covered
Green nature’s sheltered

Yellow shifts away
Natural aging and decay
Spring change has begun
Anticipate summer fun!

Learned Journey (day 640)

Remember that feeling as we swept off the sheets?
Placing delicate fruits aside for passionate love
Amid the sweet summer’s breeze
Goodnights and long days fold our hearts away
Sliding the time carefully amongst the wrinkled back pages of our hearts
Crawling carelessly across the barren desert
Scratching away like ravenous fowl
The knees of our plight, the oiled and trusty hinges
Leading the battle march forth
Gravitating back to that passionate distillery
We remember from a day long passed
Move on handsome soldier
Passion changes, lust morphs, love grows

Bicycle (day 639)

Your marvelous wheels
That catch a shining glare
Turn all the girls heads
When we roll on by
Summer golden locks
With pink crop tops
Big eyed shades
It’s gelato time
And racing through parks
Jacket flowing wide
Wind in my hair
Big smile on my eyes
Freedom!
Freedom at last!
As we curl past the final gazebo
Home stretch in front
We’ll stop just in time

Summer Night (day 417)

Perhaps the clothes didn’t belong on your body
It was a sign that they should be thrown away
Tossed aside like a used banana peel

~~
It was all I could do to stop myself from clawing at them
Ferocious like an ravenous wild animal
~~

Practiced in the mirror many nights alone
That swagger that brought you to me was mesmerizing
Little things inside fit together like suspenders on tight pants

~~
Something inside snapped loosening the grip on consciousness
Telling me slow but yelling at me loud
~~

Slight smell of desire, tequila, on her lips
The night crawled like the lazy street lights
Of a mid summers midnight romp always feel like

~~
Memories cursed through my veins when the sweat began to pour
Memories of a smell I can’t remember and a night I can’t forget
~~

Breath that rolled out like a freight train
Synchronized with the wheels of motion stuck under our hearts
Whispering secrets into places that can’t hear a thing

~~
Slipping into the nether region of things that last forever
Remembering that not all things good will last anyways
~~

Beautiful (day 81)

Lakes with glassy water
Sculptured clouds float lazily by
And a bee makes its rounds
Loudly buzzing to say hi

Sunshine, sometimes hiding
Soaking deep within
Smells of grass which I ignore
The itch; I am relaxed

A cool glass of lemon water
Lazily swinging on the porch
Soft music floats along
As the warm oven sings a song

Snoozing, with the pretty girl from the North
Even breath, tummy against my back
Flutters of a spinning fan
It’s summer again, let it remain again

*NOTE: again, I found another missing number in my catalog, so to make all right with the world, I changed the day number on this to fill in the voids. Sorry to cause you alarm.

Summer Nolstalgia (day 40)

Wide awake at home, clouds looming dangerously
Hawks are circling and the crows are pecking
Music is a rolling and my heart is beating
Landscape rises and shrinks into the distance
Lazily cars monotonously roll by characteristically
Ants crawl over, bugs hope amongst my arms and clothes
Sun spits it’s piercing rays through small windows of opportunities

And the smell, oh the smell
The smell reminds me of every summer before
Where stars came out in warmth
Lawn mowers clipped the silence with their destructive menace
Bees buzz lazily through pollinated colours of transfixing floral glory
While the barbeque crankily resists the easy start
But happily searing the meaty part

And everyone smiles

In Faith We Often Wander (day 9)

As autumn turns white as pearls
I’ve never let you go
As leaves have long since fallen
There’s never been inward fog

As ices water our fields
Birth it neighs with life
Wobbly knees and scared eyes
There’s never been overwhelming rains

As the rains have been scared by gold
Navy blues, purples, and burgundies
Watching the bee lazily wander
No searing burns have ever fazed

As sprouts begin to curl
What was calf is now a cow
Vibrant greens have all turned yellow
Yet still no weathering of my soul
