Two by Twelve (day 2577)

We lost you in a barren pit
Two by twelve stretched all around
One by one you took away
Your brace you had so laid
Helping us building here
Stronger set the mark.

We learn to grow just like Tree
Just like vine climbs high
Seed’s all spent and day’s well gone
Fire’s let run to ash.

When we find our sweetened path
A lane between our vein
Our supporting brace for each new tree
Rewinding our just cause
To set away a golden rule
Piercing scream into night.

I Really Want To (day 2155)

I really want to
I really feel like finding the motivation inside,
To reach out and scream,
To run until my lungs are burning
And life’s pain ceases to hinder me.
I want to jump and swing
And yell like a charging elephant
With my eyes glaring down
Doers of injustice.
I want to slam my fists in to walls
And flip over tables that seem impossibly immobile
Tearing down pictures
Smashing plates and pottery.

I really feel like seeing red,
But then I remember how delicately precious
Life’s wings are
As I watch a bird fly by,
As I catch the sun setting
Leaving behind a gentle golden gradient
Filling my eyes and heart
Until my inhale matches my exhale
And my toes tingle happily at peace.

Moon at Midnight – Part XXXXXXXIII (day 2047)

(part XXXXXXXII)

I surprised myself at how passionate I became
And took Willow to bed
We lay there, forehead to forehead
Sharing our hearts and souls
Through our eyes, our breath
Our souls entwined like our very essences
A mixture of meaning and questions
Desire and passion
A giving and taking and listening and sharing
One that we spoke in ten thousand languages
When she kissed me I was at once a victim
Then an accomplice
Then I was the fever incomprehensible
And then just as quickly
Transformed back into the listener.

I experienced an epiphany that night
That I never really truly felt before
And that was the feeling of One
That my thoughts
Were just as relevant as Willow’s thoughts
That she had mine and I had hers
And that we were both at the same time
Quite on opposite sides of the same breath
Her ebb was my flow
But our build was the same
I felt it as I held her
And she moved with me and against me
We began glowing together
I experienced a union
Then stepped back and observed the separation
I learned the experience of true love
Fully loving
Which was both giving and taking
At the same time
Both nothing and everything
Both silence and screaming
Like I said, epiphany.

That night I bowed down to the deep connection
I felt and experienced so intimately with Willow
I thanked my fingers for finding me so
I thanked my breath for filling me so
I thanked my eyes for focusing me so
I thanked my heart for fueling me so
I thanked my knees for bending me so
I thanked Willow, deeply, powerfully
With words that meant ten thousand things
With embraces that held ten thousand meanings
With tears that sprung ten thousand rivers
With motion that turned ten thousand days
Past moons that shone at midnight.

The Last Frontier (day 1925)

The last frontier
A land without reassurances
Insurances
Propagation and planning
Responsibility
Idealistic values of bequeathing
Handing down
Lost
Forgotten while paying bills
Forgotten while building lists
Forgotten in the lineup
For groceries we could grow
And plastics we don’t need
And products we discard
And inconvenient conveniences.
The last frontier
Pulls back allowances,
Disregards misused rules,
Plays fearless.
The last frontier
Rides the whole wave in
Over what’s screaming and yelling
What’s poking and scraping
What’s pulling at the conscience
To be prepared and out of the moment.
The last frontier
Is the silence at the end
And the symphony in climax,
Gathering speed
And surviving with breath
After all has come, gone,
Realizing everything is as it should,
The heart beats on,
The challenges still arise,
And the feet sink just a little further
Into the soft sand
Beneath toes
That fight for what they believe in.

Hades Reproach (day 1906)

I went to the cliff on a twenty third Thursday
A hole in the sky was my overturned beetle
Who did arise from the galley below
Hades riding high with his ninety nine henchmen
Calling on the world to dispense with all destruction
Guilty was the verdict as the stallion roared
Twisting through thin pines with a mighty shine sweat
Chasing down destroyers of a fruitless life
Standing tall and proud without a clue in Hell
So consumers continued down thinking everlasting well
Little did they know Hermes made his call
Down down down did they all quickly fall
Weighed down with all their spoils rusting inside out
Burning all with fright as they clutched real tight
Olympia laughing now: seven houndred heard well
Deafening screetch of every stallion rider’s call
Thunder in the night as they took their last bite
Thunder in the night as seven houndred took flight
All around screams as seven houndred struck down
Systematic reproach to every vacant soul
As dusk settles in and so the storm it slows
Children survey souls floating all around
Sweep away the dust with a conscious thrust
And with the backs of ninety nine civil men
Everyone is handed two slices of bread
And sweet mother Gaia lets her hair down low.

Passion Journey (day 1535)

This road carries the weight
Of a passing song;
Our fearless warrior carried on.
Deep as jungle screams at dusk,
A dusty trail stays hidden but not gone.

A road turns its wiles away.
Heavy hearts jump and start to say:
Adventure is this journey’s end!
Press forth into within,
Make passion journey’s beginning song.

Leftover Vixen (day 1208)

I’ve discovered a vixen
That wears death for flair.
She screams murder in the morning
And lifts weights with far off eyes.

I don’t care if you’re death
– Taxi waiting for a surprise –
I don’t care if you’re angling,
For mystery surprises me.

When leftover bottles
Start to yell “Yellow,” and my name,
I take offense to my obituaries
Scribed middle stanza.

I don’t care if you’re death
– Taxi waiting for a surprise –
I don’t care if you’re angling,
For mystery surprises me.

And late night as I’m wandering
Your plans flicker through my mind,
I’m leftover and gangrene
Slithering naked on the floor.
