What Makes You Relate? (day 2746)

What makes you relate?
Long standing waiting lines
Clogged with consumers
Looking for sweet redemption
Sold in packaging
Undeniably destroying
Their very fortune.
What makes you relate?
Big superhighways
Circumnavigating
Exhausting into thinning air
Precious cargo.
What makes you relate?
Hand picked produce
With an extra shine
Lacking all imperfections
Of the natural world.
What makes you relate?
Running yet controlled
Exasperated for thy hurry
Speeding in urgency
Crushing in ignorance.
What makes you relate?
Stuck with every freedom
Mentally destroyed
Perceived choice
Lack of ambition
Blaming circumstance
Crippled by fear.

Maker (day 1365)

I don’t want to hold hands with fate anymore,
I don’t want to believe there’s a right way,
Or that I have a significant impact on worth,
On death, or the elusive act thereof.

With whom shall I grow old with,
If I am not planning it out?
With what shall I enjoy, if gamblers
Keep convincing me I’m right.

Share my soul with wounded hearts!
Hardly healthy and needing.
Share my aches amongst the rocks!
Already scalded sourly
For I am no man fit for redemption,
I am no guest at the gates of fate
And I have brought no gifts for my maker.

All Night Diner (day 574)

I walk away with 10 lbs of guilt
Drying out at the side of an all night diner
Pissing in pots for immediate release
Burgers for the greedy
With fries

Where I once felt free
In the shady hours of the night
I no longer lurk with the victims of crime
Sitting cross legged at the altar
Single candle burning

I comfort my sentence with salt
Easing the napkin under the table
As I sandwich my regret between two sesame seed buns
Smelling redemption
Smiling in content
