Spring and Summer Came (day 3199)

She was a vision
I couldn’t rid my mind
Took a walk around
Saw her everywhere
Made her up a gift
Took it from my heart
Couldn’t find her again
She had deserted me
So I climbed the mountain
Took a great survey
Spoke two words in peace
With my Eagle soul
Clear as day I run
Into the meadow field
Far below my heart
In sweet dew drops
Never rush the heart
She was my very earth
Spring and summer came
Filling me up again.

Peaceful Protest (day 3195)

It wasn’t long before the crowd decided to gather
It was as if they had somewhere to be
Anxious and outbursts of anger
Flamethrowers from each their eyes.
They sang songs together of hope,
They sang the chorus in colour
The sang songs of hatred and peace
That scared the gathering police
And soon the rain clouds got angry
Torrenting down into the middle
Like bullets from by-standing police
Who swore they had nothing to do
With madness that ensued
For panic was an unending trip
In hearts of guests along the important strip
No longer singing together
With a message that was coherent
They were all babbling and sobbing with fear
And the rain clouds kept on pouring
Signs were all soggy and boring
One by one they were ripped up and thrown
To the ground who took it all in
Who in all of this madness remained calm.

So It Came (part IX) (day 3181)

(part VIII)

National Banks printed more money
To give to their friends
That was backed by the Government
Who guaranteed the debt
Of a failing business
A shifting economy.
So the democratic government
With capitalistic inclinations
Overruled the citizens voice
And saved bloated businesses
From serving their own ruin.
And this made the citizens happy
They all sang out: “We’re saved.”
And they celebrated in the streets
With hate slogans of peace
And angry marches of non-violence
And fear deeply in their hearts.

(part X)

Let the Hearts (day 3167)

Let the hearts of ten thousand warriors
Fighting for their very food
Fill your glowing heart
And bring you the saintly touch
To heal every broken wound.
Let the hearts of a Spring sparrow
Be the outlook worn upon your sleeve
Bringing your every breath a song
That coos you into peace.
Let the heart of an aging grandpa
Fill your very depths
So that every step you take forth
Is wisdom in every touch
And a smile so deep it resonates
Like the crystal vases on the shelf
That hold a memory so strong
It’s a smile upon your face.

Snowy Vista (day 3123)

I awoke to find the land had changed
A gentle blanket had settled down
Covering what I could see
Sleeping in the trees.

Clouds had moved away and off
Left the day with a blue sky
One that reflected white;
Brightness hard to see.

So far there were no footsteps
Hiding all that humans had chose to leave,
This left deep peace upon my mind
Setting my regret for once free.

Source (day 3018)

I followed down the mighty river
To the end of its beginning
Here a source so small and feeble
Trickled on and away
Growing from amidst the ferns
To valleys and gulleys below
I hiked here to find my peace
Instead I found a source
And here I’ll sit and watch it begin
To rest my mind a minute.

Flying (day 2990)

A game against the marshy stars
Took me here to revel in patience
For in the stars beats many hearts
Long forgotten and passed away.
But to my open heart they pass
No longer grasping at the past
But into a moment of peace
They look for what they’ve sought.
Can you run, can you speed,
Can you live my heartstring beat,
Can you pass me from my emptiness
To the great transmission home.

Solitude (day 2793)

He could not remain solitude
Friends emerged from all around
One found under a toadstool
One behind a thriving red spruce
Even as the day waned
A coyote came strolling along
Until at last, eyes tired and closing
The moon bid farewell and peace
Then all at once a new day began
A sun stretching over the horizon
And with it, a chorus of white breasted birds
To ring the day begin.
