Forgive me
If it is not in my name
I cannot blame the moon
Nor can I blame the season
I cannot source my troubles
From elsewhere in the land
For I am me, this being,
Standing and worn
And it is I
Who hath lost all
That receives me
Into my good nature.

Sail Away (day 3106)
Once and a while
To hear the birds
Sweetest reprise
Morning sunrise.
Once and a while
With tulip in bloom
Caught in the moon
Sail away my gloom.
Given Name (day 3105)
I slept on the bear
That woke up my name
And reached for the honeybee hive.
I staggered and shook
And stepped back three steps
And spoke my name backwards
Three times.
Then from my breast
Awoke a lone loon
Who sang as though
Fluttering butterfly,
But my loon dove deep
To find my name’s meaning
Returning two moons later
With pure truth.
And I sat still
On pine cone tree
Listening to the name I was given.
Great Gong (day 3101)
But the Cowboys shared song
And the Wrestlers argued
But sat in Lotus pose
For Buddha’s great gong
And the Dope Smokers relaxed
In a cloudy haze
Frozen by mysteries
No Mortal Man could comprehend
And Ballerinas spun
Till the Moon sang to the Sun
Letting tears fall
From the closing blinds
And Jugglers threw balls
Higher than before
Not missing a beat
Not dropping the heat
And Snowmen melted
Because Snowwomen were hot
Like perrywinkle tea
And Bus Drivers slowed down
For the yellow crossing sign
Said Children
And the Taxi Drivers sped up
Because their Patrons
Demanded it
And the Stars sang goodnight
In their twinkling light
As the Moon crept along
With the sound of great gong.
Toulouse (day 3042)
Toulouse, my dream of maiden,
Fabric of life,
Seams of Sunshine meeting Flowers,
Crescent of the arcing Moon.
Feel the landscape of Blossom
Flowering as a wish,
For the light downy Feathers
That claim each mistake
Fall lightly beneath the big Oak tree
That protect each fair call
Like dew drops made from Gods.
Run (day 3029)
I woke my memory to a fall:
Into a vision I’d lost.
No amount of recollect
Could mimic what I had left,
So in the absence of all fear
I effortlessly bound forth,
Gathering my wit and truth.
I sloped for easy ground,
Harvesting each neuron
For the dear escaped moon
To where I left
My rambling mind
Of each blessing I had run.
Grace (day 3037)
Cash was at the bottom of the barrel
Wading through a misty mess
Growling at the moon.
Sunk my teeth into what became
Two giant hands, leathery skin,
Forcing me to hold onto
A metal bar that froze my grip
That I had only just begun
To listen to, inside voice
As bubbles floated
In infinite grace.
Tune (day 2980)
Rainbows caught me smiling a tune
Ruthless and vicious grumbling moon
Habits and rituals that cast spells
Rituals upon my inner walls
Calling out I glean my love
And scrape it down my leg
So there it is, my whisper, my tune
Which I can declare out loud
Standing humbly here.
Moving (day 2978)
Most of my waking life
Spent in a box I never packed
Holding on
Closing up
And an empty truck
Going.
When the moon was high
I felt the light
Sold it all
Marked it down
And finished paying rent
Three bedrooms apart.
Frightful Moon (day 2963)
I woke up in a frightful moon
Glowing against the night
Forgotten where I had come from
Horizon on my mind
Spoke three words
That came to mind
Left no trace of my passing
Then, without much further warning
Snuck off into night.
