Eagle & Me (day 3096)

Callused and painful
I’ve lost Eagle
Blown in the wind
It went so high
Into the sky
Upon a new mission,
Found a gliding wing
And left me here;
Eagle gone free.

It found me on
One cold night
In Northern Ontario
Blew in on a cold gale
Upon the torn up and buggered banks
Of Huron in a golden hour.
Like a mystic thought gone,
Eagle and me
Our fond memory.

Misspent Soldier (day 2711)

They were called away
To a promised future
No clear sight far ahead
Vague plans, subtle promises,
Fame in modern times unment.
They mounted and faithfully
Road into the scene
No one there to greet them
No romantic sending off.
When skies turned blood red,
When comrades lay side by side
When torture was their enemy
No cotton handkerchief blew drying
For everyone was buckled down
Amidst chaos of the finest hour
A mission of uncertainty
And further, urgency
Flew towards in shrapnel
Devastating times of war.
At home awaited news at every hour
Mother, father, sister too
Hot soup for dinner every night
Hot tea to wake up to.

Think-Tank (day 1620)

This is nonderstandable.
Graphically explicit and blurring lines
That have been drawn out so carefully
By think-tank alike-thinkers
To show a way that cannot fail –
Will not fail.
This non-sense blasphemizes our capacity
To grapple hard bits of mal-comfort,
And undercuts the very essence
Of our giant human-kind steps
Towards liberation and freedom
In a unified mission towards love,
Strength, and peace.
So don’t bow down to your sense,
It is understandable.
