There laid the animal
Swept up in bronze
Like a rest in long grass
Golden in the hour of the sun
Did you know
It was your time?
You never left
Breadcrumbs for the pigeons
Long arms opened up
Allow me to head this way
Tag: grass
Confusion (day 421)
The confusion is like Clouds today
Perfectly shapely and full of volume
But unconvinced of whether they like the sun
Or if the sun has had it’s fun and should be sent away
It confuses me as I roll here
Along the sandy tides of earth and light
I step along the meadows of deep
To come forth with my own delight
And when the sun has further chased Clouds away
Green grass and leaves of trees do flutter
Shaking their selves to and fro
Pulling at the unconvinced rays of Clouds gates
Perhaps all that’s needed is to stand and stretch
To grow my wings unlike Creon’s folly
To learn from wisdom, and heed all advice
But lessons unclear confuse my direction
Farmer’s Fields (day 369)
At first their is a little track
At which I rush along
Then comes some wild, untamed grass
To far from the farmers arm
Then comes a fence
Barbed with a deadly glare
The field, freshly plowed
Does sit upon the fences other wing
It’s here we find
The rows of dirt
Nearly as straight as I can draw
With seeds, no doubt
For the season of growth
For the farmer to reap and sow
It’s square to him
But diagonal to me
I see it at these speeds
And after that
What ends the flat
A sprout of lovely hedges
From here we see
The story continues
In likewise fashion and theme
Into the distance
Where the eye can see
To the end and then beyond
But wait! What’s that
When I stretch my eyes
I find there in the distance
A village, of sorts
A few houses at best
But they mark the farmers existence
Perhaps it’s there
That more playful life
Also does exist
Dew (day 233)
I’ll be seeing you again
With panthers and snakes
Wildly collapsing concepts of hope
Against the backdrop of humanity
And blasphemy
Blasphemy blows down the doors of occupation
Ringing from the lonesome dove
And comforting as holy mothers do
Forever dew drips lonely from the tree
Grasping at obstructed blades of sunshine
Soon the warmth will be all over me
Beautiful (day 81)
Lakes with glassy water
Sculptured clouds float lazily by
And a bee makes its rounds
Loudly buzzing to say hi
Sunshine, sometimes hiding
Soaking deep within
Smells of grass which I ignore
The itch; I am relaxed
A cool glass of lemon water
Lazily swinging on the porch
Soft music floats along
As the warm oven sings a song
Snoozing, with the pretty girl from the North
Even breath, tummy against my back
Flutters of a spinning fan
It’s summer again, let it remain again
*NOTE: again, I found another missing number in my catalog, so to make all right with the world, I changed the day number on this to fill in the voids. Sorry to cause you alarm.
Logging (day 91)
Decisive
Witty
We spot the green slopes of grass
Littering the hills
Across the valley
Where no road of cement does roam
Global directives
Seem to explain
The scars we do place on our earth
In time
However
The roots we plant forgive
All In A Day (day 78)
Beads of sun break through this holy day
Glistening everything it hits, including my weathered desk
Plants scream out for more, reaching out with reckless abandon
And the flies all attempt to break free through the stained glass
Leaving their motionless debris scattered along the ledge
Meanwhile, deep in the distance
The blinding sun races it’s distance
Breaking through and burning any who dare impede it’s travel
And the morning cries
Like a loose canon that’s locked and loaded
Throwing tantrums at the glistening grass
Ready to dry with the midday sun
“Collapse” say the trees, your time will return very soon
Spreading wider to bask in the newly angled rays
Slowly spreading further into the distance
And graying with distance that hasn’t yet decided
Which angle it likes best
For night begins to roll the skies into brilliant spectrums
But throws it’s shadows like passing butterflies
Quietly and silently and at times omnipresent
And for the love of it all
The morning waits its turn in line
While noon pouts a silent whimper
Evening spreads out a blanket with some nice wine
And cooly entertains the fleeting thoughts of the moon
The Stars (day 61)
We crossed the grass
And turned off the lights
We stole the liquor
And remembered our last dance
We held hands
And shook in the cold air
We remembered the cause
And left more to our imaginations
