This smoke and mirrors
Is my pain
As I walk in your memory
I fall alone
On unspent words
My hair,
Lifelessly pressed
Against the glass.
I’ve learned about my veins
That run across
My open palms;
For too long have I
Looked into thee
For an answer
I cannot find.
And so my last drip of blood
Drawn from me
For you
Shall stain the soul
From whence I came
And follow me
Into the rain.

Release (day 3107)
So I floated
In glass
And coccoon
Released
From all
Toxins
That had
Begun to gather
Weight of the World (day 3043)
How do you manage the weight of the world
When the weight of the world is too much?
When the birds are all sent to the sky, flying
By the dinosaur bones floating through the air?
How do the trees that lived for ten thousand years
Live for thirty years rotting in a house?
How does a landscape dug up, bulldozed around,
Erected with skyscrapers of metal and glass
Placed on the land held sacred for generations
Now become meaningless and void?
Perhaps it’s become a subject of cultural appropriation
Us humans and that of the Gods,
Powerful mother Gaia and her wiles and subtlety
And a grandiose sense of reality.
Coldness (day 2948)
There is a coldness in my knees
That you have taken as your pain
Three roses in a clear glass vase
Four fingers slender and delicate
Married and mixed in my sun spotted desk
Floating bits of life’s decay
Piano music to my center.
Bed of Roses (day 2904)
I woke into a bed of roses
Alone and bleeding out my heart
Dark glass shattered all around
How would I ever learn?
Slipping over a raincloud
Pouring into my open mouth
Yearning for a graceful death pose
Arched spine my sorrow lover
A road forgotten now
Spitting out a bitter taste
Into howling winds of angry hands
That took away my breath.
No Words (day 2839)
Did you listen when I spoke no words?
I could hardly lean to take flight
Soar away, hide away
Aloof my trail ablaze.
I woke up from a foggy bliss
Tended to my flock,
Stepped into a day of glass
Dew upon my shoe.
When I carried over my heart,
Sealed with each singing bird’s note,
T’was then I had no words to share
No sound to match such pure delight.
Not Forgotten Blank Pages of Notebooks (day 2702)
Though a design been made
She walked away
Rode the early train beyond
Sleeping city limits been had
Of her dear lover’s abode
She watched the skyline
Grow so gold
Missing not a ray
That shone right through
Triple glazed
Windows of her steel steed
Tears had formed
Of condensate
Rolling down the glass
Reminding her
To borrow time
Upon her sheets
A rhyme.
Your Galaxy (day 2592)
Imagine seeing your stars tonight
Ones so brightly large
Looking at the galaxy
Between your orbit and mine.
I’d have a look so lost in time
Sending shivers down my spine
Wishing for a sunlit day
To float away with you.
Imagine if these changing seasons
Brought each your constellation
Towards the middle of the sky,
Your very heart of night.
I’d gather each looking glass
I had to fix on you
A way to make the distance small
Your galaxy and all.
Amock (day 2520)
I’m an artistic soul who runs amock
Given in to too many fantasies
Only a hammer to my name
Come and enjoy loving hard
And long haired legged truth
Driving a hard bargain
With a straw hat for the sun
Leaves a weary worker
Leaning in for two more glasses
Reminding him of a ghost
Running deep in his blood
Scoffing at each new penny
Spent in mirths dear folly
Along the road of distant drumming.
