Solitude (day 2793)

He could not remain solitude
Friends emerged from all around
One found under a toadstool
One behind a thriving red spruce
Even as the day waned
A coyote came strolling along
Until at last, eyes tired and closing
The moon bid farewell and peace
Then all at once a new day began
A sun stretching over the horizon
And with it, a chorus of white breasted birds
To ring the day begin.

Fireworks (day 2703)

My thoughts go back towards the dawn
You first appeared to me:
Awoken was I to rambling words
Two girls having quite some fun.
Little fireworks then erupted
– Thoughts of what the day could bring,
Sure enough I was distracted
Just as now I trail away.
You had a headband
Upon your ears
That made me think of a tough mudder
And a friendly friend and dog,
And a dog seat to be cleaner.
You smiled so freely, so effortlessly
So relaxed and free you felt;
The vibe of adventure,
Two friends forever!
One a nurse with a blue sporty car,
The other for pets her heart
Soon one me over, indeed so clever
A patience game of time.
Sure she may not have the shoes
For every single occassion,
But if she has the sandals for
The beach around the corner
Then maybe she will stay with me
And help me tune more fireworks.

Pegasus and Andromeda (day 2645)

Pegasus and Andromeda
Went looking for Capricornus,
Ran into Lacerta, who said
Cassiopeia is sure to know
She said: “Find your way to Drako,
The all knowing wise Drako,
Who might grant you a wish to
Ride on through Ursa Major
But if you’re lucky you will find
A savior in Booates
Who shall take you past Hercules.”
As a final tiding, she whispered:
“It’s always wise to spend the night,
With Corona Borealis
Such comforting, such lovely friend,
Stay the night eith her.”
So Pegasus and Andromeda
Went along their way
Found a friend in Drako
Who left them with Serpens Caput
A kind and elder Serpens
Fed them both some tea they drank.
Not so nice was Sagittarius
Whom they bypassed with Aquila
Who gave them the wise tip that if
They found their way to Cygnus,
To turn immediately to the left
And there they were sure to find
Their friend they had been so long for
Capricornus of the long legs.
So as they came upon the home
Of thou so long searched for
To their surprise
Their other close friend
Aquarius was there as well,
All four sat down
For a warm tea
– Lively chat ensued –
And when Pisces knocked
They all got up
Cordial tidings were not wasted but spent
And all five companions
Sat down together
Over hot tea and home made biscuits.

Two (day 2568)

Drove into a rainstorm with two passengers to my right
Had a conversation about two things on my mind
Two stop lights later I heard two loud sounds I knew
Two old friends of mine I hadnt seen for two whole years
Two hours later I had two beers in my hand
Two more for my two friends,
Two more for the road
At last I saw the two lights I knew as my own home
Two horses there greeted me, standing next to two pine trees
That’s when I was startled by two owls calling out
One from the East, the other from somewhere North
Two steps into my door, I met my two dogs who
Grabbed my two hands and made me feel at home
Where I sat at one of my two chairs
And shared dinner for two with the woman who I do care.

Todo (day 2519)

Counting out dollars of an unmarked womans purse
She told me I had nice hair, I said she was rather curt
That is when she told me about her dear old fathers luck
That had run its course as a scholar written from a pen of steel
I was young, she was pretty, we had fun and then we both remained
Dear friends just all the same.
When the water boiled I poured the tea for three
She hadn’t come alone but we seemed to be private
I wrinkled up my nose to an unexpected story
That had me rather wondering when I would ever read his book
So we took just a minute to choose what herbs would do
And we sipped, then we stirred, and sighed until we finished
All the deeds left to do in a scholarly mans todo.

Cry as You Want (day 2503)

I have called out the ghosts of my wisdom
Lay them down upon the brow of my thought
Spoke to them like a soldier at his challenge
And a mother facing all of her fears

Cry as you want for the sun that has gone
But tomorrow it shall come again, my friend.

Bend around the world we cannot see
For it speaks to us subliminally
A coward backs away from what wants to consume
Stronger yet is that which stands up with a raised fist.

Cry as you want for the sun that has gone
But tomorrow it shall come again, my friend.

Chiang Mai Run (day 2464)

Here I was, settled Chiang Mai
Moat circles and rotee midnights
Two wheels of 4 speed steel
And Seven Pounds for a beer
As Chang takes the stage
For a little place of my heart
As we burn one down.

Nakinee and who we are
Wat Umong steps to sacred earth
For who we are is who we are
We state our place and live our earth
Unending ouroboros in rebirth
Mounting Wat Pha Lat daybreak hike
Take my hand and let the sun
Mae Sa waterfall forever run

Whenever time ceases to tock
Left turn down a dusty road
Find ol’ Tanin Market stalls
Warorot for new shoes
And by nightfall make sure to be
At the sauna for a steam
For if you do the walking street
You’ll run right out of things to buy
Coconut and metal chang
Iron bell and another tee.

And in the morn you’ll know I’ll be
At Jikko for an espresso pulled
Through Akha Ama finely ground
Strumming out a song I know
With some friends who sing along
Starting off the day with fun
Khao Pad J for a quick lunch
Thus a day begins again.

Monkey Changes (day 2383)

Monkey changes sweet summer night
Lips through darkness my mind free
Red light tropical under the sea
Hello dear friend, hello bass line
Hello turtle shell reverb echo
Overgrown, my weathered seed
Corner darkness and my eager eyes
Whether you come home with me or not
Change my song until it’s dawn
And let me see (sing) you again.
