Forget
If there is anything left
For tomorrow
It shall be
What today
Had dreamed of.

Distance of an Ancient Mariner (day 3223)
I have not forgotten about you
You were there
And so was I
We watched as the imaginary boats
Drifted in from an ancient time
Carrying modern culture and spices.
I wore leather soles
And dreamed of a once was place
That took my breath away
With life.
I don’t know
If I’ll ever be able to forget you
But some days I do try
So that my vision
Doesn’t remain so distant
And the calling
Of an ancient mariner
Doesn’t glance to the sea
Remembering you.
That (day 3196)
For you have gone
But did you forget
Like the rest
It wasn’t passed
And then it came
Like never before
And that was that.
Ode to Ruu, A Good Dog (day 2801)
I don’t want to forget you, my little man
Though I know time will ease
What harsh corners left your wake.
I see your bounce,
Your lovely heart,
Your ever curious nudge
Jumping at my dangling hand
Across the yard in little chatter
As day awakes and starts again.
Your nose was really ever curious,
I watched you learn it’s newness
Opening for you an abundance
Across the fields you searched.
Our forest was quiet this morning
Moreso than ever before
No Ruu to keep me safe
From distant thumping of a small grouse
Crashing as you made your way
From one to another I could not see.
The dam I use to cross the creek
I remember the first time
You fought your fear and jumped with me!
How excited you were from thenceforth
To cross across and back again,
You’d run around and back and forth
Bounding with the joy of life.
Your presence brought us all alive,
Not a feat to misunderstand,
For since the day we found each other
The farm was changed:
Day’s toil was full of a scamp
Day’s end was full of a laughs
Day’s start was full of curious.
And today, Ruu, I miss all of you
For it was you who was so true
And tomorrow, I’ll miss you then
For your work was just beginning
We had plans for which you were the Keystone,
Friends for which you were the leader,
In short, a homestead
For which you were the center.
Goodbye dear Ruunikakonikakovski
You live in my heart
Though you are now free.
Unceremoniously (day 2696)
It is not a fair game for you
Hearts bleed unceremoniously
Destruction forever forcing you
Oppression unannounced
While you are wondering why you?
“Why must our people feel this?”
“Why has this been for me?”
“Why can the others not see?”
“Who is here for me?”
Though many know what life is for you
Though your people value you
The world forgets you
Telling you silently
No place is safe for you
For your bloodline spills unceremoniously
Though fires flood each embankment
Left, blowing over you
Calling out your named ancestors
Forever running after you
Filling your chest with empowerment
With a fair game for you with you.

Flames in Your Eyes (day 2447)
C. A
I’m not saying to forget
F. C
To find someone new
C. A
I’m not here to remind you
F. C
That life isn’t true
F(dgbe). C
I’m not trying to be angry
G. C
Let the moon be blue
A. F
When the whirlwind comes
G. C
Let it run
A. C
When the skies of darkness
G. A. F. C. G. C
Are flames in your eyes
You have found me here
A few towns away
Not a stone’s throw
But a move down the line
F(dgbe). C
With you I belong
G C
Chair by your side
Can the ghosts we’ve seen
Be the lives we’ve had
When lives we’re having
Keep us on the move
F(dgbe). C
With wind in our face
G C
For we dance all night
Forgetting (day 1692)
So can you rummage through my mind again?
Slow down at three AM
With subtle whispers and soft music
Invited in through lacey secrets
And a maze of forgetting.
Moon Mind (day 1211)
It’s easy to forget
– Early in the morning –
That once I never knew you.
Trying to remember;
Days I’ve left behind.
And your moon shakes my mind.
Forget (day 1182)
Forget my tender roses that grow
Beneath the hearth, so warm.
Forget I promised a thousand tomorrows
As one day never arrived.
Forget purple surges amongst our veins
Late when the moon lit our hearts.
Forget crimson skies, tomorrow’s disguise
For lifeless I’ve never remained.
Forget my whispers as they echo on,
Alone in your daddy’s penned name.
Have You Lost Your Way Here? (day 487)
Have you lost your way here?
Did you forget something?
From where did you come from?
Are you going back there soon now?
Where is your heart at?
Do you listen to the winds?
Have you lost your way here?
