A Dance Too Good For Life (day 3038)

As if the earth could ever see
Darwinian modes of ease
To see a leaf upon a tree
Blowing about the stem
Back and forth with every grace
A dance I could never trace
Delicate as a flower in bloom
Tough as nails that close a tomb
To anchor a setting sun
Upon the branch that bursts the buds
Then grouping in a seasonal array
One of Summer’s finest delights
That change the landscape one dare not stop
For as the bud shifts to a stem
Stem to a new growth
New growth takes the sprint of life
To bursting red and orange and brown
Then in one last graceful dance
A leap too good for chance to take
Downward left to fall away
Death pose into finale.

Soul Against Heart (day 3025)

I pressed your Heart against my Soul;
Two tear drops fell to the Earth.
I picked them up into my grasp
They became for my growth;
Like lightening bolts sent from the Gods
I awoke early to see the frost.
What had always been inside
Now flourished across wide expanse,
And as I inhaled, I felt inside,
My belly came and went
Every breath that thumped beside
My Soul against your Heart.

Spirals (day 3014)

This is fine
This spine
The Earth descends
And dances it’s secret
Towards the ancient seed
That glows
And sows
It’s endless womb
Encircling the mess
That crawls and creeps
That slime
That whine
And soon enough
Memory fades to clouds
And then before
The door
What more?
Creaking of the hinge
That leaks a light
Scaring off
The bunny
Looking back.

Oak Leaves (day 2820)

It is a problem,
For I have not found it here yet.
Spires have taken my holiness
Unaccounted for,
Untrained,
Un-restricted.
Like a dove in flight,
But without regret.
There shall be no more passion,
No more emotional choices.
So it lays thus, solid and lifeless,
Awaiting a deep agony,
A lifeless sympathy,
That shall agree with
No more of this world
And of its gains.
Floundered,
Spinning into earth
Yet leaving marks: vivid,
As the Oak leaf stays
Through Winter.
