Dragon River (day 3135)

Would you cross Dragon river
For an ancient vision?
A world so wild
It seems chaos,
Nothing we can comprehend.
But over there
The drink is good
So freely handed out,
And Horses sit
At card tables
Betting all or nothing again.
The Trees are big
– So gorgeously big –
They take up most the sky,
Very top of horizon!
Monkeys swing from branch to branch
Dropping sweet surprises
Onto hats passing Frolickers
In bed with Froliquettes.
Would you cross that Dragon river
To step upon the other side?
Or would you tighten up your belt
And square down your hat?

Pious People (day 3113)

Oh, let the pious people be
Let them be
They can carry the song
Let me free
And in the information rich
I shall love the respite
I shall crawl away
And gain the ground
I’ve never seen
For in the end
And underneath
A crawling seasoned spire
Shall carry on
As the last song
Dragon singing long.

Dirt and the Saints (day 3041)

I sat there understanding nothing
No question to my mind
Yet sorted out was a figment
Lost in a region I wouldn’t dare enter again
For I had fought that battle
Recklessly
I had lain that flying Dragon down
With my Sword I had wielded mighty
Patiently sitting
Understanding nothing
And staving off the thoughts
That raced around mine head
For inside of them
Lurked what voices I had yet to recognize
Some surely to be Saints
Some no doubt to be Dirt.

Entirely Audible (day 2822)

I do not know what I want to hear
Sweet voices
Tambourines
Drawn out organs
Single noted cellos.
Sounds have become adjusted
To a key un-lay,
Not entirely audible
But clearly a deeper feeling
That rests not
Incus and Malleus…
Deeper.
Tap roots of an ancient breath
Hammered into shape,
Ten thousand soldiers,
Fire and Dragon’s wings.

Crimson Blood (day 2807)

Forever in Desert’s sun
She waited by Cactus
Closing slowly her soft hands
Needle in her thumb
Dragon surfaced in her throat
One she’d never known
She whispered to him by his name
Soon he was her pawn
All at once they struck a deal
One forever indebted
For in her hand she now held strong
Two droplets of crimson blood

The Nature in You (day 2776)

I would like to get to know you more
Inspecting wild flowers on a bright day
Hold hands with future’s memories
Learn your every ray
From seaside to mountain top,
I’d like to get to know you more.
I’d like to see the stars in your eyes
And the clouds upon your brow
Wake each morning to your sunshine
And fall asleep each night to your moon.
I’d like to learn what you understand
Get lost in your dreamy swoon,
See the dragons in your breath
I would like to get to know you more.
I’d like to learn what you would say
When I could learn to communicate
What storm was on my mind,
There I might find your embrace
That took me into a deep swell
Comforting my inner sea
Where I could learn how you fit to me
Every valley, every mountain,
Every you that shared with me
I would like to get to know you more.

Red River into Thy Heart (day 2564)

Deceived again
I’ve fallen into
A rabbit hole of goo.
Spewing all sorts of muck
A red river
And a dirty shoe.

Down down down I go
A pleasure cruise gone bad
Leaving little bits of lies
Discarded, buried deep.

And then at once
Sky opens up
Dragons retreat, depart
Leaving dark clouds
Rolling away
And a softened heart
Becomes.

Secretely (day 2349)

Secretly I whisper to the eyes that hold but little space for me
An awareness that belongs not to my soul of desire
But to a lost alarm clock beckoning for another hour
A window catches a blinking light somewhere in the horizon
While a cat sadly roams about the hall with a limp it cannot heal
Desolation is a lingering affair amidst night before’s busy streets
Where once fireworks begged for mercy in the air like dragons nightly play
So I shall talk at odd volumes to hear my voice again
Though no memory shall recall the words that secretly danced
Amidst uneven sidewalks of a forgotten despair.

Home (day 1878)

I am the will of ancient Rome
I cannot see my moon
I hear warm cackling of great fir
Smouldering as it burns.
Yet my two eyes cannot provide
Clear sight that I dream for
For my device in plain sight
Requires three at its helm.
So I will build layered roads
I will cull the dragon’s neck
I have thunder in my sword
To dig my family’s home.
