I’m trying to understand the Magic I’ve seen in your eyes
The way the Sunlight dances across, unknowing
Whispering in a daydream all the things I’ve tried to
And then all the things I’ve not been able to
Since my tongue is tied at every corner
I find within your being
I sit down and measure and weigh
My own capacity to love you
Where did this come from?
The sun made me squint
For I was staring at your eyes
And inside your eyes
I found a jungle I searched to explore
And inside that jungle
I waited, for I knew I would be
Lost in here for a while.

In a Letter (day 2586)
I wrote away a letter
Unmarked address with extra hope
It would find a recipient
That wished I’d be mailing soon.
In it I explained
How my heart had always felt
When I thought of her smiling
– A reason I surely had to swoon.
I explained of how the clouds looked
When I sat happy to daydream
She had sent me off with fireworks
Half way home, across Canada.
Then I signed the letter punctually
With my whole enunciated name
Ink splashed out my every hope
It would bring us to our peace.
Precious Moments (day 1445)
Precious moments found inside silence,
Inside floating,
Inside crisp envelopes
Opened with a sharp knife,
Wait like a foreign Uncle
Who’s unaware of customs,
Unaware of time changes,
Unaware that foreign currencies
Cost in translation.
Precious moments are our forgiveness
And our floral holiday
Lightly cloaked in a daydream.
Hot sun on the patio
And sirens invisibly floating by,
Followed closely by breeze
Amongst full branches of a willow
And a lost call of a gull,
Precious.
Hard Rock Superstitions (day 1264)
I’ve been rolling in a daydream –
A long line of roses
And a whisper leading me on.
You have a tendency to cure me,
To play me all the good songs.
Perhaps it’s superstitions
Getting aligned
Perhaps it’s superstitions
Keep knocking rocks all night.
