I’m hijacking emotional waves
Leaving the strong winds
For cracked nuts
And a fire, unattended.
My teeth hurt
And my coffee’s gone cold
– Toxic lush
Even when hot.
A game, I’m gone
Struck me on the shoulder
But hoping for an open minded Lady
Who gave a wrinkled
Promiscuously acquired
Five dollar bill
To a tourist fear trap
Like a Merry Christmas card
Unsigned.
But I’m gone
With hotel room vibes
Blinking lethargically
Stuck in deeper thoughts
That have taken me
Deep inside
This unattended fire,
Waiting for a spark to arise
Within me
Like Cupid’s golden arrow.

Full (day 1669)
I waited up to see my full moon
Shining through my full glass
Satiating my full desire
Hidden deep within my full belly
And kept warm in my full house
Decked full of surprises
For a full celebration
About this full Christmas tree
We’ve emptied of life.

Winter Wanderer Enthusiast of Cold Sports (day 594)
Deep within
The Christmas Bowls
A forest-scape awaits the searcher
White trees that bend
From the weight
Of two months
Windswept
Hard blown
Snow
Wind drifts
And little kickers
That come out of corners and grow
Are like playgrounds
For the winter wanderer
Enthusiast of
Cold sports
Warm mittens

Christmas (day 580)
Evening approached and the table was set
Kids gathered around all dressed in their best
I, with my wisdom, did carve out the ham
Sharpened the knives for thinly sliced meat
Hors d’oeurves were laid out for the hungry to snack
But all there to witness couldn’t resist what they saw
Candles were lit for the mood of the night
Glasses all clinked in festive thanks: grace
Feverishly eating, heavenly tasting
The food all consumed, the belly extended
Happily the family rested in joy
Content from the feasting
Warm from their labours
This was their Christmas as it ended in bliss
