Urgent Glow (day 3140)

Could you reach out to me
With even just one shred of urgency?
Pain, desire
Some kind of emotion
That speaks to me of your tune
So acutely set to the vibration
Of your heart.
Draws havoc
Across the desired pages of my mind.
Keeping me awake and suffering
As my candles burn down low,
Offering me a little glimpse
Of how brightly you glow for me.

Arc Beams Vision (day 3020)

I have a vision
Been coming stronger
Sitting in the middle
Of a wooden floor
Carpets laying around
Neatly arranged
Raw browns and orange
And fringe
And a comfortable
Record spinning
Easy for my heart
With a friend
Who’s looking into my eyes
To find a vision
With the smell of herbs
Floating into our souls
Palo Santo,
Incense and a candle
And plants
Creeping around the room
Like they invited me there
To sit
Like a student at the altar
Singing with the open air of breath
So clearly enchanting
The moment in the sun
As it arcs its way across
The beams of this vision.

The Aftermath (day 2982)

Madness is my rawness
A cool wind trickling in
Through the carelessly
Awkwardly
Blindless blinds in a breeze.

Through my heart I sense exposure
A germinated seed standing tall
With dandilions and sweet summer grass;
An attic vent left unkempt.

Longing for Sun to strike
A moment I’ve anticipated on the wall
But each of them still blocked as past tense
Scented with a candle’s wick.

Stopping (day 2945)

My leaving held me to a candle
Where I swore but could not be heard
Callused, I learned a mannered derision
Falling slowly while walking
Heart worn and still spending
Danger amidst comfort
Finding I was working like a man
Field and the ploughs
Dark soil in each finger’s nail
And a candle to my brow
With no time for stopping.

Wax (day 2909)

I am nothing
For this is changing.
My knowledge has been,
My journey long gone,
Sense of self abandoned
And the lizards
Have begun to infest
Each broken hallow,
Each arching pain
That has dropped
And begun no start
For I am nothing
Like candles run wax.

Machete (day 2611)

I go to bed late and forget to leave the evening candle burning
It sits beside my machete that waits for another attack
That ripped my great grandmother from her life
These Wild Men came, ignoring her fire
Her embers burned yet they stole with little regard
Fair play existed when hands were harder
When banks weren’t lawmakers
Lawless was irrelevant to those who upheld order
Gunslingers or good singers or Moonshiners all made their way
Through the land of hard work, good cooking, and square dances
And my machete sits sharp

Colours (day 2603)

It is sadness as the day grows
We build walls between us
Habits that never meant to do wrong
But collided mid-space
Like an astronomical war.

I used to like your little ways,
The way you put on your socks
And lit candles
To burn them all the way down
What happened to my colours?

Sky Fire (day 2578)

I’m running around with two lines, and I dont know how to die
My fierce warrior yells at me, reminds me: YOU ARE THE SKY
And hello in there, hello in there
Hello I am the wind
Beating down upon the night
As cold sets in
Then all at once
My faint whisper of hope; candle
Flickers, sputters, wavers, jumps
Then beats onward, my fire.
