Do You Know the Sensations (day 549)

Draw me closer with your breath that’s been so long from my neck
Sensation that crawls along my hips through your fingers
Curls around my shoulders and grabs hold of the back of my conscience

On a journey I didn’t pack enough for
In a rhythm mixed of every song created before

Do you know the sensation you give me when your silent words reach my ears?
Spiraling downwards through my veins into my racing heart
Too much madness gathering around my concentration

Enter the song where angels sing
Floating down the gurgling Xijiang

To Make This Ending Alright (day 540)

There is no age that is old enough
There are no journeys long enough
No steps that take you high enough
No song that lasts long enough
To make this ending alright

Your infinite smile that greeted guests
Lingers long after the visit rests
Lawnmower rides with a mile wide smile
Together, no memory strong enough
To make this ending alright

The time we’ve shared
Has taken me into a land
Far beyond dreams and into
The hands of strength and belief
To make this ending alright

So now is not the time to fret
Time to weep into our sorrow
It’s time to praise the lasting life
That fills our remaining breath
To make this ending alright

~this poem is to give strength to all of you out there, healthy or sick, to fight and enjoy every last breath you have~

Senses (day 533)

Thank you for the breath that I breathe
For the grass that grows green
And then dies in the fall

Thank you for the eyes that give me color
Shades of the rainbow from the sun
And white from the cold

Thank you for the smell from my nose
Fresh turkey from the oven
And wet paint on a canvas

Thank you for the strength in my bones
That lead me into tomorrow
With every step that I take

Thank you for the touch at my fingertips
Dancing happily over exposed skin
Searching blindly in the dark

Thank you for the thought that I think
Setting my plans and my goals
And being blessed with love in my heart

The Arms of Peace (day 516)

I play with things
And I touch all kinds of stuff
But when it comes right down to it
I’ve lost it
I’ve shat out marbles
Pissed warm vinegar

Then
On the other side of the clouds
As mountains have swarmed into creeks
Into glorious rivers with intermittent lakes
Cuddling the flat lands and
Sipping tea amongst the rocky peaks

I saw a sign
My eyes opened
My breath became easy
As I cleared my voice
To bellow out a glorious song
Marrying bliss
With jubilance

And with a smile
I stepped lightly forward
Into the arms of peace

Lover… (day 438)

Lover, come home to me
Let me feel you beside me now
Forget space that has grown
Let night grab us here
And take hold as we dance away

Lover, whisper in my ear
Let sweet sounds heat my breath
Lay me low against the time of night
Push away that cause this
Uncomfortable space between us

Lover, hold my hand a while
As we walk off into the distance
Searching for a sunset
Amongst romantic castles
Stone fences, and cobblestones

Lover, sit with me here
Lets make our backs hurt
Our asses numb
On these cement benches
Staring deep into the horizon

Perfect Pitch (day 412)

The perfect pitch that follows me around town
Through the back of the bushes with a hand of her skirt
Down the cobblestones on the squeaky bike
Over the bridge with the perfect arc
And the crystal clear water with the biggest fish around

The same one that whispered in my ear as I sipped on the morning tea
Admiring the speed at which the croissant oiled the paper it came wrapped in
That stopped the spread of a thousand tiny crumbs
Through the hair that felt good today
And the warm sun that easily was enjoying the morning as much as I

This is the breath that I inhale as I think
That pushes me forth into the pastures so free
And gallantly holds my head up high as I
Hold up my hand and shout the perfect pitch that rattles through my teeth
This is how I stretch in the morning, inviting the day to begin

On My Breath (day 341)

Perhaps it was lost that night I lay awake
Stupid with drunk on my breath
I saw what I have never been able to explain
Where the answers are to questions that have never been asked

Then, and only then, I was lost
Amongst my familiar things I was lost
Like the cold sun or the free bird
Before I knew what had happened
The lights had turned out and the morning was to early

I did spend the next 5 days stumbling
There was no equal for time
But there were counterparts that played the role pretty good
However lost my heart was that night

Without a word the silence ended
Out from nowhere the claws began to scratch
Reaching for the little spaces within my armor
To leave me a better man

While I Shall (day 273)

While I’m afraid of what tomorrow brings
I shall pull up my socks and trod forth
While I can only see habitual retreating
I shall encourage you till the end
While my breath comes slower in my dying age
I will squeeze the last of it into you
While my whispers hit only your ears
I will make sure they embrace your thoughts

..and then
In the power of the history
We shall be forever more
