Another One (day 3214)

Working like a dog
Since Ive been meaning to go home
And my good woman
Who I left there
Has the patience of a Queen.
Every day the sweat leaves me
Too tired to go on,
But sun again rises high
Sending me off into the fields.
I smile out there
To the whole expanse,
Thinking how I have been so lucky
To wake beside a beautiful
Human who cares for me,
And then to work amongst the birds
Who sing so playfully
To wish me luck upon my way
Another beautiful day.

Warm Shoulder Tenderness (day 3150)

Early one morning I was out banging rocks
I saw a young lady, she looked long and lost
I asked her her name
That’s when she cried
Into my warm shoulder her sorrowful thoughts.

There’s the blue skies to look at,
The trees to go in,
The birds always calling
To give you a friend,
There’s the clouds that have every
Masterpiece within,
And I’ll be here, Honey
Forever, Amen.

That’s when she caught me to give me a kiss
One mighty big one I’d forgotten I missed
She leaned in and looked up
With those beautiful eyes
Into my warm shoulder her wonderful bliss.

When the wind blows and the sun glows
My eyes take to close,
Just like when my girl goes
To lean in, so close,
Into my warm shoulder her tenderness grows,

From Afar (day 3091)

Little blackbird little blackbird
You sit there so lonely
Your friends along the line
Not away, not too far.
I see you agitated
Worried and lonesome
Watching them get along
Where you sit, from afar.
Why don’t you start singing
To the day through the air,
To the sunshine that hits you,
To Spring coming in the air,
Your singing so beautiful
Would attract every ear
From Pictou to River John
From afar to right here.

Mister One and Mister Two (day 2802)

Find me if you can
I wont be singing at the gates
Found a path
That led me down a mountain road.

Came upon two pillars
I took to calling affectionately
Mister One and Mister Two.

Hello, how are you,
It’s good to find you here
I have come from far
And I’ve got a bit to go
Share a tea, I’ve got enough for three.

And a bird came
Whistling to me
That took me off
To find a beautiful melody
Since that was all
I had ever hoped
Would find me here.

Moon at Midnight – Part XXXXXVIII (day 2032)

(part XXXXXVII)

I felt like I was getting pretty good at identifying plants
It was really enjoyable for me
To go out looking for medicine and herbs
With Willow
It was incredibly peaceful with her
Walking lightly through the forest
Listening to birds
And waiting for animals to do their things
Before we did ours
This was a beautiful life,
I kept thinking to myself
How I had been so lucky to have
Met Moon Cow so many moons ago now
As they stopped me while I was walking
East from Amy and Frank’s house
After leaving them for the first time,

One day while the two of us
Were stopped along a brook
I asked Willow if she wanted more children
She looked at me and smiled
And said that she had always dreamed
Of having four children
I guess I had kind of already known her answer
Before I had asked it
But was looking for some kind of affirmation
I felt at home with her
I knew that much for certain
I knew that my lonely heart
That had set me out on the road
So many moons ago
Was no longer lonely
That Willow and Lily and Moon Cow
Were the family I really never knew
I was missing.

I held her close
And kissed her deeply
I could feel the gentle squeeze
Her strong hands made
Upon the small of my back
As she let me know with her hands
How she felt about me
Her love was like the sun on my skin
Her touch burned me
With complete satisfaction
Right to my soul
In a way that I had never felt before
Every moment with her
She taught me how to be a more kind human.

We spent the remainder of the warm but late
Summer day tangled in each other
Rolling in each others ecstasy
Rising and flowing
As we taught each other
The flow of the river
With our hands and noses
With our gentle kisses
And passion.

Beautiful People (day 1824)

Why are people so beautiful?
Some days the ruin of my heart
Lingers upon my tongue
And touches my nose with the faintest scent
Of midsummer’s rain.
I cannot handle this pain
In the easiest of ways,
Waiting for my touch to return
And senses to die down.
For I am only a man,
Saddened by a never ending toil of life
To which I patch holes
With beautiful people in my heart.
