Don’t Breathe Yet (day 2468)

I keep turning over sideways
You’ve been here on my mind
Not wanting to inhale yet
Memory’s still tacitly strong
Fingers on my lips and
Have I dialed the number wrong?
Won’t take my hand away
Counting each new beating pulsate
Your toxic touch has infatuate
Has taken to my mind
Turning over a new song
That lets me wonder on.

Ribs Clutching Veins (day 2332)

Love turned to ice
Torn from it’s cave
Ribs clutching veins
Cavernous thoughts
Soiled floor
No longer beating
Lay the heart
Of the North Sea Queen
Upon her nightstand
Of blackest of stones.

Alone she sat
Eyes to the heavens
An empty void
Collapsing around her
In a symphony
Of North Sea Wind
Finding hollows
Within the North Sea Castle
Reminding all lovers
To beware
Icy grips of torture
Lay upon the brow;
Deep winter’s birth.

One by one
Suitors came bundled
Inexperienced, undermanned,
Incapable of holding
Court with frost
Who all left lifeless,
Vague and soulless,
Unable to escape
That same grip
Which tore thy love
– Ribs clutching veins.

Heard Walking (day 2208)

Out walking
To me, you were floating
Ethereal, from matter
Beside me in frame
But floating upon my mind
Never leaving my consciousness
For each step I wondered
Will she still follow?
Does she hear the same river I hear?
Has her heart heard mine now?
To which I remained in breath
An achingly lost lament
That followed my beating heart
Into a heart of softness
I still hoped for knowing.

My Smile is Worn (day 1793)

Be still, my beating heart
For this is the end
My smile is worn
My heart is full
And time has come again.

In days to come,
In longer times
My memory shall sing on
And beating there
With vibrant air
Shall be my forever song.

There were always times ahead
Where love was held, I’d share
Truth in all my words so clear.
In my home and in my heart
I was the Queen of Hearts:
Royal and speaking free.

My garden was where my heart was led
Amidst marigolds and smiling pansys,
My ebenezer always full of flow,
As life mimicked so all around
Season would come and go.

Now, as my soul goes into sun
Hold strength within my hand
Touch upon warmth of a new spring day
As grass sprouts
As my tree grows long and tall.

I will miss you,
I always will.
Forever I will carry your heart
Within mine own
Yearned upon history’s notes
Of pages we wrote.
