Played out Alright (day 2166)

When glasses are heating back spaces
And love’s been ticking empty pages
My dear
It’s been a long night again.

But when the moon’s light lets me
Hold onto what little I’m left with
My dear
Can I see the way your eyes look again?

You can call me when it gets you
Has it been enough to forget you
My dear
To the door that never lets us in.

Dance, like it’s been played out
And I will never fade out
My dear
Forget just how that moonlight
Used to rise and shine without you
And then it’ll be midnight
Alone, again.

Wild Meadows (day 2150)

Where the wind blows
My saddle shall rise
O’r the wild meadows she goes

When the birds wake me
My boots shall speed thee
O’r the wild meadows she goes

When the waves crash down
My trumpets shall shine
O’r the wild meadows she goes

Where the apple falls
My basket shall heave
O’r the wild meadows she goes

When the Lady calls for
My heart evermore then
O’r the wild meadows she goes

Born a Leopard (day 2147)

I was born a leopard
Faster then lightening
With a fierce bite
Family has answers
And I don’t travel in a pack

Let the moon crawl
As each spot upon my back
Snarl in the pale light
This is a silver ghost
And I don’t listen to whispers

Forget we are dancers
Paws in the sand
Rooting like trees
Leaning as the wind goes
And I don’t run without answers

Turning Point (day 2140)

This is the turning point
This is the handing off
This is the hardest part
And I’m coming home.

Been, and said
And lifted my head
To reach what couldn’t hurt
And I’ve gone instead.

This is a sounding alarm
This is a messenger
This is a cold escape
And I’m coming home.

But there I was
Lost in my reverie
To the kingdom I’ve built
And I’ve gone home instead.

Over The Mountain (day 2138)

With my soul that’s been flying
I’ve gone over the mountains
Swept little known secrets
Into every day dealings
And with two birds singing
I’ve heard excellent ringing
My mind isn’t reeling
And I’ve come to believe in
What an effort can do then
Like a hand out of water
And heights I’ve been feeling
With my soul that’s been flying.

Hot Rocket (day 2133)

Call it what it is
On a gold line to Maine
Like a hot rocket lit.

You know where you’re going
It ain’t no cruel plan
Pick up where you left off.

Hold strong to live strong
Believe what you do know
Getting in to it to get lost.

Sell it all away
It had it’s day yesterday
Ran out of what to say.

My red line is feeling fine
Horizon line slipping by
Call it what it is.

Twisting Trail (day 2127)

Papa could’ve been another type of man
Like a raindrop could be caught in a hand
Let another letter slip through the mail
Gone again gone again as heat prevails.

“A little gone,” says the better man
Couldn’t you have just set it right: a plan
I said goodbye into a dusty pan
Held it close as I looked inside.

When the needles dropped upon the forest floor
Little birds gathered all around
Snowdrops sprouted into the sky
And the trail twisted on.

Bled My Raindrops (day 2120)

Listen to raindrops fall
I thought I heard to let it go
Sadness in an old song
And my heart is letting go
To me, I’m still beating there
Go back, take the slower track
In a mind of losing me
I called out to a golden eagle
Take me to the sun
Today I ran today I run
Today I found a trail
Through a suffering forest
They call Ancient Wisdom
I led my heart
Through the roots
To place it at a base
Of Old Man Beard and his setting sun
That bled my raindrops dry.
