Prose or Drawing (day 41)

As the clouds roll grayly over the tips of the trees
A flower sprouts out, distorting my gaze
Lime green shoot with delicate leaves off
Yellow petals catching little rays of sunshine
In spite the meandering clouds

And a bird, sweep and sway as it goes
Following a path neither you nor I see
The lazy sound of rolling tires
Pressing heavily along the solid cement
Easily making out the cars that hit that evil pothole

But the cedar hedges all look sharp
Neatly cut last night with a dull pair of snippers
I know because I heard it happen
They cried the whole night too
Now, they look pretty and blue

Upon closer inspection of the ground I lay
A beetle crawls away, weaving a slow path
Destined for a head on collision with
That squirmy ant I see over there
Maybe they’ll become friends with one another

In all the sights I hear on my perch
All the animals I know do roam
I feel of them all luckiest to be
The one with the freedom
The voice to be me

Summer Nolstalgia (day 40)

Wide awake at home, clouds looming dangerously
Hawks are circling and the crows are pecking
Music is a rolling and my heart is beating
Landscape rises and shrinks into the distance
Lazily cars monotonously roll by characteristically
Ants crawl over, bugs hope amongst my arms and clothes
Sun spits it’s piercing rays through small windows of opportunities

And the smell, oh the smell
The smell reminds me of every summer before
Where stars came out in warmth
Lawn mowers clipped the silence with their destructive menace
Bees buzz lazily through pollinated colours of transfixing floral glory
While the barbeque crankily resists the easy start
But happily searing the meaty part

And everyone smiles

A Poet Does Wander (day 37)

Confused wouldn’t explain anything
It would just deepen the roots of distaste
Idling in the same spot
Ingesting the poisonous fumes

Like birds that fly dizzily
Into oncoming traffic; stuck
Swishing from side to side in an unbalanced act
Turned around by the speeding vortex

With time the falling leaf
Stuck in the same surrender, lands
And all around, like a mothers hug
Settling exists within

No Silence (day 36)

In spite the effort, a skillful retreat
I’ve long forgotten what once was a feat
I’ve pushed the boundaries
Beyond all knowledge
I’ve pushed understanding
Into corridors long since silenced

But yet there belongs a chorus of laughter
Deep inside like spitting banter
Trying to ridicule what decent scent of abomination
Still left inside can sometimes whither
Unsuccessfully chasing
The glory days to reign
Amongst the eyelids who persistently clasp shut

Inhale (day 35)

Slightly zoned, half inebriated
Focusing steadily on things not on my mind
Faking, because there is nothing there
Alone if the air is clear

I’ll sit and stare
I’ll sit and stare

Whispering loudly into your un-hearing ear
Words of laughter, only one of us will get
That’s ok, I’m having a good time
Out here with the buzzing bees

Dancing slowly
Dancing slowly

A burst, a gust, a breath, an inhale
All for no reason, for no one shall fail
No one shall lose, and no one shall win
We shall all collapse in the same un-bathed sin

Whirl my soul
Whirl my soul

Sweeping and groping and laughing and falling
Stumbling in arms specifically made for this moment
A ruckus erupts from beneath the floor
Aggressively leaping into the arms of my lost lover

Lonely I walk
Lonely I walk

I’ve seen this road before
Lazily I’m stumbling with stern conviction
Homeward bound with passive addiction
At last the bed, inviting swirling apparitions.

Exorcism (day 34)

It’s a crippling numbness
Settling me into my spot as I sit here and wait
Hoping for something but not receiving
Why do I wait like it’s a choice I can will:
The existence is truth, if I think hard enough

Yet I lose all motivation
As if calling the setting sun out while loosing daylight
Flushed, to worried to move, to pressured to stay
To meaningful to blow off
To surprised to react
To alone to feel the real impact
To young to exist any other way
