Sun Breeze

This breeze upon my body
Marking my heart with
Golden hues of a summer dream
Well shaped clouds
Floating on a layer
Of atmospheric bliss
So ready for the taking
I’ve held my breath for a while now
Watching swallows float sideways
Playing a game I’ve not learned
Freshly trampled grass
Mixed with freshly cut grass
Mixed with lambs calling to their ewes
And starlings sitting on their perch
At the big barn’s ridge cap
Lightly whispering seed tops
Of the past ripe brome grass
Remind me that the sun is growing old
And my day has begun to prepare
For evenings welcome rest.
