We scowered fresh cut grass
For uncovered rocks to pick
Hidden boulders ‘midst the ruff
Half sunken in disguise
Some so deep, so gargantuan
More than 5/6 buried hard
That one must scratch and dig
To get a good firm hold
And then with all one’s greatest might
Pull and pull some more
So that at last
A fissure developes
Besides the edge of rock
Back and forth some more one grinds
Loosening up the stubborn stone
Until at last, triumphantly
Emergent from the ground!
Month: April 2019
Backwards Memory (day 2872)
I awoke into a dream
That had me backwards memory
Two and two made half is 1
Double meant I’d run
Crossed my fingers
And crossed the bridge
Danced a jig to celebrate
With a bear who spoke my name
While two wise men
Who carried a bag
Came up to me to say
“God, young son,
Will find your way
If you close your eyes and stay.”
So off I went
In the heart of lent
Dancing bear no more
A river bent
My onward path
So I swam into the middle
Where I found my enemy
A rock, so heavy
Floated off the levy
And made it home in time
To dine.
Daisy (day 2871)
Inside the daisy
There spoke a new world
That lazily
Awoke embers
Alive sang their song
Alert their dancing legs
Two hold hands
And remembering distant lands
Two suns were their orbit
Sun One and Sun Two
Yellow golden hue
Inside the daisy
Every Day (day 2870)
Tonight’s sunset
Reminded me
How little time I have
To remind you
Every day
Is how I want to be
With you
Spine (day 2869)
I didn’t want to wait
I told you that
As I waited
My heart knowing
My desires
Would wait
I didn’t want to be apart
For the strings
Binding our hearts
Stretched beyond my comfort
Leaving a pain
Behind my heart
Beside my spine
That waited.
Window (day 2868)
Your window changed my sunset
No longer do I look for more
I sit here, quite content,
With your presence glowing softly
In my growing heart of acceptance
To make my each day well spent
From my hearth to your sweet window.
For Certain (day 2867)
I dream of your smell
Though it has been too long
To know for certain I still know
And your long hair
As it feels in my hand
Knowing you’re submitted
Caressing and enjoying;
Your murmur soothing us both.
I can feel a part of me
Waiting inside of you
Not knowing fully
As I know myself fully
Though I enjoy the route
We take to get there,
Your eyes looking back at me
Will know my heart’s beat
As it beats now for you.
End/Begin (day 2866)
Compression is an alibi;
Dense earth puddling
And flowers suffering
For there is no space to grow
Until Worm makes its way
Casting its gold
Into trueness of soil
With no damage plan
Becoming the end of the road.
Distract Me (day 2865)
I am distracted and disgusted
Trapped inside a ritual
I never knew I’d slipped into.
I woke alarmed,
Spoke slowly,
Yet saw no change becometh.
Then there I was: forgotten,
Within myself: outwardly,
Expecting another to change,
Or not to be,
Or be completely..
And I had nothing for my pain
For it was all consumed
By my distraction
Disgusting me.
Changes (day 2864)
Fires woke and excited the beast
Roaring in a blaze.
Night curling around dark poles
Eyes intently gazed.
Lips so pure; an Angel descended
Lightly touching down
Afraid of nothing, no need to be
As day broke all around.
Visions of a playful glen
Peaceful animals, babbling stream
Walking with a certain gait
Midsummer’s healthiest dream.
